Hi Danno, Really looking forward to this !!! I will be bringing a good bunch of Historic Racing Miniatures stuff (if I don't get cleaned out by next week) but will not have any Clearly Scale goodies as my first delivery is not coming in till later in the month. If you can, put me next to Laski Scale so I can clean Art out of Pro Tech goodies when he's not looking Thanks my friend ! Randy

scale motorsport Shelby Daytona coupe
Randy D replied to montanaphil's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hey Phil, Always good to see a Montana modeler, I grew up on a ranch outside of Bozeman (born in Miles City) As to your question, at one time I had 2 of Matt's Daytona kits (Scale Motor Sports). Very nice packaging and the parts looked really nice. As you can tell from the web site it is a curbside kit. I have since traded these as I wanted to do a full detail build with engine. I have the Model Factory Hiro kit and the HRM kit. Side by side comparison photos of the MFH (cream colored resin) and the HRM kit (white colored resin) of the bodies.. Both of these kits will build into beautiful full detail models. The big difference for me is how thin the HRM resin body pieces are compared to the MFH pieces. In my opinion the HRM kit will look much better when the front clip is open to display the motor with its closer to scale thickness in the body parts. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three choices that are easily available, those being the Scale Motor Sports, Historic Racing Miniatures and the Model Factory Hiro. You need to decide if you want curbside or full detail and figure out what price point you are comfortable with. SMS......$145.00 HRM......$185.00 MFH......$300.00 P.S. In full disclose I sell the HRM kit Randy -
I'm with Danno, always cool to see someone modeling Chaparrals. Looks great !! Randy

I like the build even with the Wing thingy stuck on there !!! I thought of you Ray when I was at the Shelby Museum a couple of weeks ago. They have display cases full of all the different models of Shelby Cobras but they don't have near 715 Randy

The following is a message that went out to the folks that signed up earlier and Len, the Dragon Snake transkit won't be in until late next week Hi Folks, It has been a bit hectic around here but we are finally ready to launch the new store. I hope that your shopping experience with us will be a pleasant one. The goal in this endeavor is to put fine quality products into the hands of you, the passionate scale model builder. The business model to accomplish this goal is to identify small one man operations that have a quality product but maybe less than ideal distribution and work with them to become their on line retail partner. Our featured company for the store opening is Historic Racing Miniatures. Harold Bradford's resin casting has been some of the finest available anywhere for decades. His Daytona Coupe kit has been a 'holy grail' of mine for years and now that I have one I'm even more impressed. Late April brings Clearly Scale on board. In just a few short years Jeremy has established his company as a leader in the aftermarket field with an ever growing product line. The model kit section will continue to grow as I acquire more products. We are in discussions with paint and decal companies and hope to have offerings in those fields in late 2017. If you see something that can be improved or you would like to let us know how we are doing or if you have some thoughts on a product you think we should carry please use the Contact Us page or send me a email. Thanks for stopping by! www.modelbuilderswh.com Randy
