The fruit wagon kit has enough parts in it to build two complete cars. A stock vehicle and a hot rod.

Fastest street legal car in america
Toner283 replied to chevyfever2009's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
He didn't say daily driver. He said street legal. Two different animals. I know of at least two local cars to me that are a thousand horse at the crank and they are driven daily. big horse power does not have to be unstreetable anymore. -
STEVE SCOTT ,A.KA . [ UNCERTAIN T ]
Toner283 replied to bpletcher55's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I bought a copy of it. Not a bad movie. Maybe not the best I have ever seen but far from the worst. -
That is a piece of pie. And yes that is a stick of dynamite as well. the guy who draws the Bizzaro comic has a warped sense of humor and the dynamite and the pie are in pretty well every comic. Along with the little alien guy in the ufo. there is almost always strange stuff going on in the background if you look for it.

What do you call a fly with no wings? .....a walk.

Those are the stock splash aprons. On a Model A Ford, you can easily remove (relatively speaking) the headlights and headlight bar, the front and rear fenders and the running boards in a few minutes as they all bolt to the body. Removing the splash aprons is more involved as they are captured between the body and frame rails. To remove them you need to remove the body bolts that bolt through holes in the splash pans and loosen the rest enough to lift the body a half inch or so to be able to slide the splash pan out. this is a time consuming process and not something that most racers would want to do at the races. Especially if they had to reassemble the car to get home. Trying to install splash pans and line them up with the front and rear fenders, the running board and all of the assorted brackets is no fun by yourself and even with a second set of hands can be frustrating. Definitely some cool cars. Thanks for the link.

I see where you are coming from Harry but in legal speak, not guilty is not the same as innocent. They are two different realities. You can be found not guilty of a crime but still not be innocent of any wrong doing. *** Before anyone jumps on me, I am responding to Harrys ficticious example, not the Tony Stewart case. ***

Maybe if they bring this Cutlass kit to life then the modeling community may also finally see a G body Malibu in kit form. it would not be very difficult to tool up a Malibu to fit on the chassis and ancilliaries from the Cutlass kit. All G bodies shared the same basic frame and chassis components. Not to rain on the Cutlass parade but I would rather see a Malibu done in kit form in 1/25. As the owner of 4 full size Malibu's I would be in for a case of kits. In my opinion the Malibu's are a better looking car than the Cutlasses but I am biased. At least if the Cutlass comes to life in 1/25th then maybe someone will tool up a new Malibu body and related parts in resin to go with the Cutlass kit. Here's hoping.

The Gotham patrol car / Joker goon car kit has a couple of guns and a 70s light bar. I think it was the AMT 32 Chrysler roadster has a tommy gun, a pistol and two gangster figures. The same kit also has a safe and a briefcase full of jewels.

And even then head for the closest wall, not the middle of the track. I have raced on several different tracks local to me and as long as I have been racing (more than 10 years), this has been a hard and fast rule that is reiterated at every drivers meeting before the races. If you get out of your car on a live track for anything other than an emergency situation, you don't race at that track for the rest of the season. Do it twice and you don't race at that track again ever.

Wheel Part Pack brain storm...
Toner283 replied to Luc Janssens's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ed Fluck runs Drag City Casting. He is krassandbernie on here and several other boards. First class resin caster and a great guy to deal with. His stuff is like kit parts, you won't be disappointed. -
What Kits Were Molded in Green?
Toner283 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have several different issues of that kit and there are at least three different shades of green that it was issued in. -
AMT did a 1/6 scale small block chevy (283 cu). It was issued both with the block done in clear and in regular styrene. It has all of the internal details too. Neat kit.

X2 I am also very interested to see just what is inside that box. Looks to be a very cool kit.

I have to kind of agree with this. if there is an item for sale or $10 and someone else has the exact same item for sale for $5 why would I spend $10 for it? if I buy the $5 item then I have $5 to spend on something else. I need my money to go as far as I can make it go whether I am buying hobby items or whether I am buying groceries. if one store has an item on sale I am more likely to go to the store and buy it at the sale price. I am sure we have all seen eBay ads with outrageous prices and we thought to ourselves "wow you are going to own that forever because it isn't worth anywhere near that" Or the sellers who think that any old model kit is worth gold. If you have a kit that was not much good to begin with and has been reissued 20 times, it isn't worth anywhere near as much as an original old annual kit that was only issued once. but I see a lot of sellers list them both at the same high price.

No problem. GM built lots of one or two off vehicles strictly as styling exercises. 99% of them did not get built for one reason or another and the vast majority of them did not survive, eventually being modified into another vehicle or crushed entirely.

Not true. Oldsmobile did in fact build 7 factory sedan deliveries in 1950. There was one built for each Oldsmobile factory in North America at the time. They were used as parts runners and executive vehicles at the plants. These seven are believed to have been coach built vehicles as they share no measurements or sheet metal in common with the Chevrolet sedan deliveries of the time. They were an entirely unique vehicle. 3 of them are known to have survived. It is entirely possible that all three were at Oldsmobiles 100th anniversary show and these were the ones you saw. They were never intended for mass production or public sale. It is actually kind of amazing that these three have even survived and did not get crushed. Definitely a super rare and super cool vehicle. http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/car-of-the-week/car-week-1950-oldsmobile-sedan-delivery

Rob's resin making thread
Toner283 replied to robertburns's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Awesome. Are you the same guy that was working on a resin master for a 1/24 or 1/25 scale Futurliner a couple of years back? I cannot remember who it was on here. I remember sending him a PM about progress and possible prices but never got a response. Are you making this just for yourself or do you plan to market it? I I am definitely interested. -
Revell 4th Quarter new kit announcements

Showboat! Great news for traditional hot rod builders. Nailhead Nailhead Nailhead Nailhead. It was getting tough to find this kit for a reasonable price just to rob the engines out of it.
