  2. Good morning Francis, I’ve been following along, but not commenting as I simply don’t have words. It’s just simply amazing what your doing here. It looks so real, just like the real car. Having owned 4 A body Mopar’s, your capturing all the nuisances. Thank you for sharing, a break in the building process can be good as you come back refreshed and enthusiastic about working on it again. God bless you my friend!
  3. Thanks Daniel, I’m getting anxious to finish it. Overall, I’m pleased with it. It’s been a lot more work than I expected.
  4. Hey Zippi, sorry I didn’t respond quicker, but my girls went to Illinois this weekend, so I finally got to work on the Hornet all weekend. I got a lot done. If I had one more day I probably could have finished it. It’s too hot and humid so I moved from the garage to the kitchen table, much more productive. Somehow my taillights don’t fit my bumper, I think somewhere I ended up with a 73 rear bumper. It fits the body but doesn’t match so I had to modify the tail lights to work. I scratch built a tach, added the front roll bar brace. I finished the decals and hood pins as well as the BMF on the windows. I need to make the glass. I painted the headliner and area around the rear wheel openings.I added carbs to the motor and a bunch more, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

  6. Thanks Jim, I’m going to start pinning more of my parts. I thought the location marks for the headlights would show through the paint and while one was faint,the other disappeared. Same for the tail lights, the instructions said to drill out the holes indicated under the body, but there were none. There was locating holes for the door handles which I really appreciated. A little more prep before painting would save me a lot of headaches. Thanks for the advice!

  9. Thanks Jim, I agree, I didn’t see a need for a ton of decals, less is more sometimes. It’s now posted under glass.
  10. So true, I I’m surprised as to what is allowed in Stock Class racing, back in the day stock meant stock.
  11. Really coming along nicely Ron, people don’t realize the amount of work it takes to actually replicate a specific 1to1 race car.

  15. Thanks Larry, most of the engine is kit parts, I sanded the ribs off the oil pan ,swapped the injector from the parts box and valve covers from the Revell 67 Chevelle kit.

  18. I’m calling this one finished. It’s not perfect but for the most part I’m satisfied with it. I learned a lot about this kit during the building. Some experimenting went on with this one. Windshield needed the bottom trimmed as the interior didn’t fit and now the chassis isn’t squared with the body so the front right tire isn’t sitting on the ground. I added the headlights after painting, big mistake as the attachment points were buried in paint, and it made placement really hard. The superglue I used to mount the door handles fogged the black paint. Comments, criticism welcome. Thanks for looking.

  21. I always liked the look of day two cars. As a young kid, you had to make the car yours and a change of wheels was usually the first change. Yours looks beautiful and I too love your color choice. Changing paint types, or manufacturers is always a challenge as I recently learned.
