Yes sir! I used a dremel that has a variable speed. Put it on the lowest setting and it worked . I stripped the wheels with automotive stripper, sanded with 2000, 3000 then used the dremel. Painted the black and painted the lug nuts. Thank you for the directions. They came out nice. Before and after.

Thank you Dann. And thank you Bill ( Mr Obsessive) for the info on the wheels. Was alotta work but they look sooo much better. Stripped with automotive paint stripper. Sanded with 2000,3000. Rubbed with compound with a dremel . Polished with a dremel. Painted the wheels black with molotow on the lug nuts. They look so much better.

Hey Bill, going over your wheel detail. Looks like alotta work. Do you think a dremel with polishing wheel would work? Either way it looks like alotta work. Love your results on your wheels. I’m going to give it a try. Tha nks for your info on the wheels.

Thank you sir. I tried as much as possible to get things correct. These big kits have other challenges. Especially the paint being so much area. You use a lot of material. There is soooo much surface area. Keeping dust and other stuff out of the paint is a challenge.

Cleared. Tomorrow color sand with 2000 wet and dry. Then rub with compound. Then we are on our way to assembly

By the way, had a club member make the GT500 in a decal. This was a part of the build I had a question on. But a guy by the name of Neil Hulse made the decals. He saved me. It sure makes the paint job. And I would like to thank Mark Adams ( from Agora Models )for supplying the kit. He is like Bill (Mr Obsessive) just knows a lot about these kits and how everything works.

Thank you Bainford. I could not believe the time it took to stripe the car. I painted it Saturday. Color sanded it with 1500 Saturday night. Sunday morning put the parts together. Masked up the car , took the car apart. Painted the white. Unmasked the parts. Took all day. Still need to clear the parts. Hoping to do this tonight with some luck. The color is a very beautiful blue. Acapulco Blue. Very fun but yesterday was a little bit of a pain. Hopefully the clear goes on nice. Sometimes we just need a little luck.

Hello. Taking a agora super snake and making it a GT500. Or maybe it’s a GT500 with a 427 . Anyways it’s painted Acapulco blue. I have several 1/8 builds going now but my friend Mark said build the GT500 for our local contest. So im going to try to build this in less than a month. Probably will not be finished but I’ll try. Here goes. Next is sanding the blue with 2000 wet and dry, put the body together so I can lay down the Shelby stripes. I had a friend make the “ GT500” . He makes decals. So the stripes will be painted and the GT 500 will be a decal. I will take it apart then reclear the entire car. I hope I can do this , this week. If not I will not make it. I hate deadlines. I have them at work, do not need them on my hobby. I see 2 day builds on this site and they are amazing. I usually take more time than that deciding a color .

I had the same problem with the tail lamps Fixed a hood louvers problem. They were too high. Recessed them into the hood.

Although very expensive the model factory hiro kits in 1/24 are pretty accurate. IMHO. I my early days, I was designing products. We sometimes had to scale a product up or down. The dimensions would be spot on but sometimes the product would look weird. So things would change to be eye appealing. I think model companies probably do the same thing. I modeled a mfh Ferrari P4 a few years ago and if I copied the rear engine compartment on the real car, it would look like a 6 year old did it. Things were hammered by hand and looked actually terrible. If I put that into the model , I would have a lot of explaining to do. Thank you guys for the information as I will try to locate some of these kits. The knowledge is just amazing on this site.

1/8 Mercedes 1955 gull wing engine wip. The bodywork finished, filling gaps and smoothing out the body. Black needs to be straight. . Sanding and reprimed over and over.

I really love the styling of the c3. I restored a 1969. 427 L89 car. 1:1. IMO the best styled body ever for an American car. Yours is fantastic. Color , everything. Good job ! Your uncle and aunt will be very pleased.
