  1. I used 26 gauge bead wire on the clamps, wrapped it around a toothpick and cut it to size. I'm surprised you noticed it with the poor quality of the close ups.
  2. Awesome, I love the colors!
  3. Congratulations, nice job!
  4. If you're thinking of buying it, I say go for it! It's a beauty! Nice job on the details, I love the sign and I'm also a huge fan of the '32.
  5. You are just teasing us with the one picture, right? What an awesome build! You did it right!
  6. Thanks again! I need some ideas of items to put in the bed for road service if anyone has some, please leave comments.
  7. Thanks for all the comments everybody!
  8. I painted the bed boards first with Testors yellow enamel then dry brushed it with Testors brown. I made two attempts with bare metal foil then decided I liked the silver strips better. I assume that answers your question, unless you are just wanting to know where the bed came from, if that's the case it was the stock bed.
  9. Thanks Doc, I appreciate it! Thanks also Johnny, the thought crossed my mind to paint the grill white, now I wish I had.
  10. Thanks Sam, I just noticed the grill is a little too shiny compared to the rest, I'll have to nock that down some. I never seem to get the engine shots to focus clear with my camera either.
  11. A couple more, thanks for looking.
  12. Just finished, box stock with a little road rash. Fun build, thanks for looking, as always leave comments good or bad.

    Bug finished

Nice job! I like the color, what is it? I like the colors on the engine parts also.
  14. I have always been into cars. I hated going away to the US Army when I got drafted at 19. When I was sent to South Korea I discovered a hobby shop on base. I started building cars and planes and received compliments from the guys. I thought of it as a subsitute for the real cars I would have at home and a few planes thrown in just for fun. One day a high ranking officer made a surprise visit and I had my models spread all over my bunk. I thought I was in big trouble. I received one of the highest compliments I've ever recieved in my life and from that moment I knew it was no longer kids stuff.
  15. Another crusty rusty work horse, I love it!!!
  16. This one goes on my favorites list! I would love to build one similar to this. Nice job! Thanks for sharing.
  17. I absolutely love it Doc!!! Another Masterpiece!!!!
  18. This one looks like one of the old Revell kits that had the opening doors, I haven't seen one of these in a long time! It looks like a goner as far as restoration.
  19. I seem to remember a lot of them ending up that way, very convincing!
  20. Thanks for doing the video on the wash Doc, you make it look so easy. I don't have the same products but, thought I would give it a go with thinned Testors enamels this morning. Thought I had ruined a couple of spare engines I had on hand. After it dried it actually looks pretty good. The engine paint raised a little at first but, dried OK. Does this happen at all with the products you are useing? I just wondered if that is the big differance. That '40 is really coming together and I don't want it to end! Hope you will do another.
  21. He should be pleased with it, looks terrific! It has the sleeper look but, by the looks of what's under the hood it's no sleeper! I would like to have the 1:1 version. Cool!!!
  22. I built my models on the floor, on my bed or anywhere untill my parents bought me an old wooden desk at a second hand store. It was placed in the corner of my bed room, yeah I had my own room. The desk was the kind with three drawers on each side and a long one in the middle. I had a spare parts drawer, then two, three and eventually all of them were full of parts and models that didn't quite make it to the shelf. This was my little world for years.
  23. DOCTOR CRANKY'S Lab-RAT-Ory (Virgil) Moving along stay tuned in for that WASHES video. I can hardly wait for the video Doc, we need more eye candy!
  24. This is really looking good Dr. Cranky! I like the shiny new look of your engine but, just wondering what mixture you will use on your wash. Can you name the products and mixtures you use? I have reached this same step on my current build and could sure use your help! Thanks, and I will say this '40 Ford just keeps getting better, good stuff and glad to see you in action once again!
