  1. Congratulations on a successful build! I enjoyed watching and think you deserved the award, even though I didn't see the competitors! I love it!!! Hey the front end looks like my 1:1!!!
  2. Thank again for the comments. I don't know if the Black Widow kit is still produced but, I still see it in local stores occasionally. I just realised they now have a two door post BelAir kit on the shelfs! I've got to get one of these!
  3. Thanks for all the comments guys! I did mention I would build another but, I didn't say when. As far as the tail lights go, I like them only I wish the lenses were a little more detailed. Thanks for looking.
  4. OK, here's what I got done today. I hate doing sparkplug wires, this is what slows down my builds so much! I know this is just a basic step in detailing but, I'm still trying to master it. All I got done was three wires so far. Wish I could go back to no wires but, it's too late for me. I dread it every time. Please, please, don't tell me I need to do brake lines and hoses! The Texaco truck has been on hold for over two hours, now it's time to get back to work.
  5. That's funny right there!!!! This wasn't what I was expecting when I read the topic.
  6. The model turned out very nice, as for the ugly mug... . I like the bus on your shirt and I'm really just kidding about your mug. Hope you enjoyed the USA and don't judge the rest of us by Las Vegas!
  7. Excellent job on both! Love the pictures!
  8. Ready to start work on the Texaco truck once again. Happy Saturday!
  9. Nice Goat!
  10. Ditto. My favorite build to this day has to be the first car I ever owned, hope you had as much fun building yore's as I did mine!
  11. Exactly what they all said. Are you sure this is your first? You are on your way to some great builds!
  12. That's pretty cool! Good luck getting it done by Sunday and don't forget to post more pictures!
  13. Here's one from about a year ago. Yeah it's one of those from the Old Navy stores. I don't know what I was thinking but, it got cut up along with my S-10 and turned out like one of my models when I start cutting. Also some pictures of the 1:1 the day I sold it.
  14. My car was a '62 Impala SS 327, 4-speed back in 1968.
  15. I love this thread!!!! My first car was a '55 Chevy back in 1966.
  16. I don't know how I missed this one! This is one cool looking beach buggy worthy of bringing back to the top! I just finished mine so I was looking around at others.
  17. I remember seeing cars simular to this driving around the local drive-in restaurant back in the late '60s. I always liked them from a distance. You would be up there high enough to see everything around you except whats in front or you. You almost need a hole in the floor to see the road. Don't get me wrong, I like it!
  18. The VIN is hard to see in the photo but, it looks like the real deal! Nice job on both!
  19. NOW I know the REAL reason why you are building it!!!!
  20. Here's some pictures of my bench during photo shoot. I was playing around with some mirrors.
  21. Sorry, looks like I am having as many problems with this computer as I did with the model. I think it's the super glue maybe on my fingers, or sticky keys.
  22. This thing is going crazy!!!!
  23. ..........Trouble loading pictures, I will try again.
  24. Finally finished this one! Had a few problems, engine was not cooperating. Paint is Testors Gloss Yellow in a can and red Dupli-Color. I didn't like the kit tires or wheels. I painted the kit wheels and added upholstery nails for hubcaps (Thanks VW Dave). I went to a single gauge on the dash so it would be simple like a VW. This was a month long build for me for some reason, I stalled several times on it and a vacation break in the middle. Next one might go faster I hope and it will be an all out Dune Buggy! Thanks for looking.
