  1. Nice start, Wayne. Is this 1/35 or 1/76?
  2. Nicely done, Wayne. Yes, I definitely hear the theme music from Raiders of the Lost Ark! Didn't Tamiya make some 1/25 DAK soldiers? I think Preiser makes some 1/25 Wehrmacht soldiers as well.
  3. I do not know if Italeri is planning on reissuing the VN670, but I wouldn't be surprised if the did, Italeri has been reissuing a lot of their truck kits, so the VN670 might be in the works. I might get one if they do.
  4. Two trucks in one box? That's a great price. I've been wanting to try my hand at these 1/43 trucks one of these days, but when I do find them they're more expensive than the 1/25 trucks! Go figure.
  5. I think the air ride seats are more for the 1/16 Peterbilt 359 that has opening doors already. I don't know what sort of visibility you'll have in the W900 cab if you don't cut the doors open, so maybe you could skip that one.
  6. Nicely done! Now all you need is a trailer to make a good West Coast rig: Ok, so it's not exactly like yours, but you get the idea!
  7. Looks like Dodge was trying to get some fleet work with a shorter hood truck. Like many of the manufacturers at the time. I have the Illini Replicas Dodge Bighorn, but i don't think I'm going to attempt this with it! Keep up the good work.
  8. Isn't a 4300 with a short hood a 4200?
  9. These might help: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm03_sept_1990_truc/ http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm04_nov_1990_cater/ http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm12_mar_1992_air-r/ http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm14_july_1992_deta/ Looking forward to your progress.
  10. When did the 8-bag suspension that comes in the AMT kit (AirGlide-200?) actually come out?
  11. If I'm not mistaken (and I probably am) one of the trucks used in the filming is still running in Wyoming. It was repowered, stretched, and had the torsion bar suspension replaced by the 8-bag air ride. What green is that? It looks just about perfect.
  12. You mean like this one (it's a 1972 C116DFL):
  13. That's good to know. Did you swap out the 8-bag air-ride suspension for the tandem torsion bar suspension? Looks like you used the kits 3406, too.
  14. Matt Conte of Dencon Resins used to make a Ford F8 Big Job resin conversion kit. It looked quite nice, too, but he has been out of business for quite a while now.
  15. Good information, Håkan. Tak!
  16. Nice looking engine. Too bad those red & yellow Ford/Caterpillar decals don't seem to exist anywhere, though. I could use some.
  17. Håkan, never having seen the actual AMT Super Boss or Bandag Bandit kits, I cannot verify what you say about them having different cabs than the AMT W923/925 kits. I can say that the photo of the actual Super Boss shows it with the 1973-82 cab (since it is a 1974 Kenworth W900, the Bandag Bandit was a 1978 with square hedlights) while the AMT W923/925 kits have the 1968-72 cab. It wouldn't surprise me if AMT used the 1968-72 cab on the Super Boss & Bandag Bandit kits back in the day. I wonder how difficult it would be to convert the hood into a stock long hood for a W900L. Probably have to steal the hood from the Revell of Germany W900/T900 kit. Does the Super Boss kit come with a long hood? It looks like the actual truck in the picture might have a long hood. The kit does come with a Detroit Diesel 12V-71TT hooked to an Allison HT-750 5-speed automatic, right?
  18. While I'm not excited about this release myself, I know that a lot of people will be. But I do wonder if this could possibly foreshadow the eventual release of the AMT Kenworth W923/W925. Time will tell.
