  1. Thanks, Mike That was my intention with the compressor. Unfortunately, the bottom of the cabinet acts as a resonator, and makes it louder. If I did it over again, I would fill the space under the cabinet solid to the floor, or at least add some stiffeners to the cabinet bottom. It's still quiet enough, but it could be better. I am also interested to see how well my spray booth works! It seems OK, but I haven't painted anything yet. Thank you Johann!
  2. Frederick, MD has a bunch of the L700/ '40 Ford kits. Some Crown Vics. Some Charger Super Bees. Some Chevy SSR. One L700 w/ box van. A couple of Ferrari Daytonas. A few other things, nothing I didn't already have.
  3. I wondered what those crunchy bits in the salad were! Thanks, Paul
  4. Thanks Andy. I made all the cabinets, including the drawer unit. In fact, I did everything, framing, drywall, paint, wiring, flooring, etc. It's the only way I could afford to do this. Thanks Mark, a sink would be nice, but getting plumbing out there would be a major job. I guess that's the one thing I'll have to continue to do in my kitchen. Thanks Tom, James, Bruce Thanks, Dan: 10-4, I'm on it! Thanks Charlie, I'm not a FB kind of guy. Old dinosaur..... Thanks, Kerry.
  5. Thanks, Dave. The whole point was to get modelling out of my kitchen, so I could USE my kitchen sink!
  6. Thanks Jonathan, Michael, John, and Pat. Thanks, Ray. I loves me some laminate flooring!
  7. I know what you mean. I've been working from my kitchen table for years. I live in a one bedroom apartment, so I finally decided to carve out some space in my garage. Since I make cabinets for a living, those just cost me materials. The wood for the cabinet doors was a tree that fell here on the farm, I had it sawed at a local sawmill, and dried it in the barn for a few years. Most everything else is scrounged, homemade, or flea market and auction finds. And now I have a kitchen again!
  8. LOL. I haven't built anything in there yet. We'll see what it looks like in six months!
  9. Thanks, Chuck. I was happy to find that Rover.
  10. I haven't built any models in a while, because I've been working on this. I still need to do some organizing and putting away in the cabinets and shelves, but I figure it may not be this clean ever again, so I took some pix.
  11. I agree! I would love to see that TR finished, but it deserves to have whatever time it needs.
  12. That came out great! I enjoyed the WIP.
  13. That came out great! I enjoyed the WIP.
  14. Years ago I had a customer who loaded a 10 foot kayak in the passenger seat of a BMW Z3. Even angling it as much as we could, it still stuck up above the windshield a good 5 feet. After tying it down the best we could, she left on her 35 mile trip home. I never heard from her again, so I guess she made it.
  15. That's cool! I'm glad to see that decal worked out. It must have been a challenge, especially with all those compound curves. Nice work, I'm looking forward to seeing more!
  16. I recently got a California 2010. I think it is the same compressor as yours, just a different size tank. I haven't painted with it yet, but it is pretty quiet, pumps up fast, and ran both a brad nailer and a finish nailer with no problems. I did get a water trap and a second regulator that works on low pressure for it. I hope they paint beautifully for both you and me!
  17. Will scalpel blades fit in an X-Acto type handle? I know they're not meant to, but will it work?
  18. Really well done. Great color!
  19. I was in Dollar Tree this morning, and found this. Six rolls of wire, each 33 ft. long. The black is about 30 gauge insulated, the red is a little bigger. Yup, it was a dollar.
  20. This is where I got 32 gauge insulated single conductor wire in black: Micronmeters The outside of the insulation is 0.37mm, very close to the size the OP mentions in his first post.
  21. That is very nicely done!
  22. I like using telephone wire for heater hoses. I don't know what gauge it is, I would guess 24. I use 32 gauge wire for stock plug wires, 30 gauge looks a little big to me. Bear in mind that the gauge of the wire is for the wire only, it does not include the insulation. Insulated 32 gauge wire is about the same size as bare 30 gauge. I have used 30 gauge insulated wire for battery cables, it looks OK to me. Hope that helps.
