Thanks, Ron! Thanks, Tom! One cool thing about this kit is that the side glass frames, and the doors are all separate pieces. So it could be built several different ways, from a completely open "pickup", to fully enclosed as I have done. With a little effort it could be done as a half cab or a panel truck. One of these followed me down the road yesterday. I wanted to pull the guy over and ask him a million questions. I haven't seen one in a very long time.

A definite Darwin Award candidate.

Steve, it's hard to say what method will work best for you, perhaps Christian's suggestion using the tip of your finger. I use the Sharpie and gel pens by lightly touching the letter. There should be lots of places online that have them, but one is dickblick.com. Look for "Gelly Roller" pens, and metallic Sharpies. They also have the Molotow chrome pens everyone has been raving about. I don't know how far "Podunk" is from a craft store (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc.), but they should have the Sharpies and gel pens as well.

Your inkjet printer would work, with some limitations: 1. You can't print white. 2. If you print on clear decal paper, the body color will show through the decal, unless the body color is white. 3. If you print on white decal paper, the separations between the stripes will be white, instead of body color. If option 3 won't work for you, I agree with David that masking and painting is your best bet.

Oh! Bleeping bleep! That fellow seems to have a limited vocabulary. It does look like tons of fun, tho.

Thanks, JT! Thanks, Scott! Most of the dust is Testors paint, a mix of flat brown and flat white. It was very thin, and I set the airbrush so almost none came out. That way I could build it slowly, and add more in some areas than others. I also used a Vallejo gray wash, and little spots of Tamiya smoke. The final touches were done with ground up pastel powders.

Nice job, Jim. I like the color and the stripe. The interior looks great, and that engine is killer!

After looking at my photos, there was one area I was not happy with. So I popped out the "skylights", and painted the rubber gaskets around them. This is where I am now.
