  1. Hi Sheena. It's great to have another Virginian with us. Welcome and have fun!
  2. Very nice!
  3. Very impressive!
  4. Nice!
  5. I mostly paint with Testors or Model Master bottle paints (airbrushed). Usually 1/2 oz. will do three coats on a car, including under hood and engine area, with some left over. That does not include chassis or interior. I use MM bottle clear as well, maybe 1/4 oz. or so.
  6. LOL! Murphy never sleeps!
  7. I will be the first to add some truly useless information! I use a 4 HP, 80 gallon compressor. The same one I use for everything else in my shop. The point is, if you have other uses for a larger compressor, you can do hobby stuff with it as well. I use a 20 year old Badger 200, because I needed an airbrush to touch up some cabinets, and that is what I could get immediately. So I am the perfect example of what Harry described: I use what I use because that is what I have, and don't know anything about anything else!
  8. Absolutely gorgeous!
  9. I wonder what the current status is for using photos as evidence. My Dad, who was a professional photographer starting in the '40s, and took some crime scene photos, was concerned that digital photos would not be credible. Since digital photos could be easily altered without a trace, would they still have the same value as evidence. It's very difficult to alter a negative.
  10. They turned out a lot better than that. They look fantastic!
  11. I remember those "Aeroskin" things. I built a bunch of them. They were tiny, but they were cool!
  12. Thanks for the info, Harry. The shotgun fittings look great, can't wait to see the shotguns.
  13. I went this morning. There is always some variation from store to store. The one I went to did not have the Atlantic or the Maverick, they did have the Charger police car. The AMT Vette kits were all curbsides.
  14. Looks great!
  15. Amazing work, Harry. What kind of joints and glue are you using for the door frames? Are the doors fragile? How did you bend the pieces of wood that go over the fenders? I would like to build a wood body someday, so I'm picking your brain while I have the chance!
  16. Thanks, Matt. The paint is Model Master "Blue Angel Blue". Thanks, Ken..
  17. LOL. Well over 100K. Transmission is shot and there may be some front suspension damage. (See my post above) Wanna buy it? Thanks, Mattias. Thanks, Doug.
  18. Awesome paint job!
  19. No disrespect intended, Danno, but even with the ghost markings, those are pretty obviously police cars. The local deputies here are using an unmarked white minivan. Imagine the shock when someone is pulled over by that!
  20. That's a very good point, Art. I think we tend to believe that in the '60s, every boy built model cars. Looking back to my own acquaintances at that time, I can only think of 3 or 4 who consistently built models of any kind. The same holds true today. Of all my friends, I am the only one who builds models. So if only a small percentage of kids today build models, that was true back then as well. The percentage may be even smaller now, I don't know. I suspect that the desire to build something has not decreased. Look at the popularity of Legos.
  21. Joe, I found a pair that are about 1.15" x .6". The wheel opening is about .7" diameter. They're hollow. They are Goodyear on one side and Firestone on the other. They are not Eagles, tho. They are not in perfect condition, but might sand up OK. They're yours if you want them.
  22. LOL! No rust, but it did die a premature death as a result of someone speed shifting it and drifting it on the back roads. It also managed about 30 feet airborne by jumping the railroad tracks downhill. I can't imagine who would do things like that! Thanks, Andy.
  23. Joe, I've got a box full of slicks. Can you give dimensions of what you're looking for?
  24. Looks fantastic to me.
