Recently finished this one up. OOB build, body polished and clear coated, and just a bit of detail painting.

The Tilghman St, Allentown, Pa. store got the AMT '29 Roadster PU/Woody. I picked up 2. It looks like there was nearly a full case there. As others said, it seems that stuff is staying on the shelves longer.

The box art is great! Those wheels are an upgrade too! I will be getting a number of these!

I will be watching for the Coke '29 kits, they haven't made it here yet.

Nice work! Very well done! -
Beautiful work on this! The paint, details and quality of the build are outstanding!

Excellent job! So cool! Love everything about it!
-
Super nice job! Love the detailed engine and all the "right" parts that are added. Clearly built by someone who knows the subject!
-
Excellent model! Great color, stance and graphics! You really got the gasser look down!
-
These are both great! I really like the Son of Ford, Nice upgrades!

39 Chevy sedan delivery
larman replied to junkyardjeff's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's a great engine choice for this. A lot better than the BBC with tunnel ram that comes with it. I always thought that set up was a bit excessive for what was in the rest of the kit. -
Anyone build the Monogram 39 Chevy coupe
larman replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You would need that extra hood. The coupe doesn't have stock hood sides. -
I agree, i bought 1 for parts, the chassis, wheels and tires are useful. The engine looks small, but I am considering using the good parts from this kit with the Atlantis Fireball FED, to make one decent dragster......

1/32 Atlantis (ex-Monogram) Funny Car Kits
larman replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It was previously mentioned on here and elsewhere that the second set of 1/32 funny cars, the Pinto, Vega, Mustang II and Gremlin were going to be reissued. I sent an inquiry to Atlantis just a few days ago, and the reply was that "there are no plans as of yet" in regard to these kits. So, it sounds like they have reconsidered or if they are coming, it will not be any time soon. I am not sure if the first set has sold well, but they seemed to have been positively received and reviewed. I was really hoping to see the second set as well..... -
Rodded '32 Chevy delivery
larman replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That color is cool, I assume this is a rebuilder and that is the original color, but it would be cool if you keep it or get something close when you redo it. Your plan for the build sounds good too. -
Looks cool as it sits! Pretty much all of the old Trophy Series engines will "drop" in except maybe the hemi from the '32 roadster.

Outstanding work!

This is really excellent work! Love the engine and chassis details! I always liked the orange box art car, but figured it was a product of the model designers imaginations because I never really saw a '58 Impala gasser. Most '58 Chevy drag cars I have seen are Bel Airs or Biscaynes. Not too long ago, I found this pic on Facebook that might have been the inspiration for the AMT box art, so there was at least one real one out there!

The valve covers and intake are from the AMT '62 Bel Air and Impala kits.

Your work is outstanding! Love the Canadian conversions and the Grumpy cars!
-
Super job! Love it! The best way to build this kit is as a drag car, IMHO!

Awesome job on this! Great colors and nice detail painting on the figure!
