Weather in Monterey (CA) County concerns me, because we are planning to visit there this weekend with a dear friend.

Spouse got some there a couple years ago, they were fine. I suspect that they are contractors, not WalMart employees, but I don't know for sure. They have a real optometrist, just like the other places.

Lottery tickets that our favorite neighbor gifted us for Lunar New Year are still unscratched.

Got an email from Burbank's House of Hobbies saying they are in stock. I am not going to be an early adopter of this one, so y'all can have mine for now. -
Home is my current location, and I am about ready to go to the kitchen and make tacos because it is Tuesday and I like tacos.

Stripping the clear coat under chrome?
Rodent replied to Street Rod's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Steve, I have never seen this on the shelf in the USA (California). If I did, I would probably buy it since I occasionally clean the oven as well ? -
OK, now go play Powerball!

There are maybe 100 times more books than models in this house, just sayin...... No complaints about the models, some complaints about the books.

You may have to redesign this when the John Wick kit comes out. I believe that Steve G. said that the grille fit was "improved" or something like that. Not sure if that means that the nose was modified, the grille was modified, or both.

I bought some matte black Chartpak graphic art tape from Amazon in hope to find a better solution for the hood paint on the Revell 69 Boss 302 and 71 Boss 351. It looks nice, but I haven't tried it yet. It's available down to 1/64 inch.

Best way to chrome plate resin wheels?
Rodent replied to mikemodeler's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sorry that this is a bit blurry, but this is an AMT '59 Ford bumper that had decent chrome, but was slightly abraded at the top. I did a little cleanup with 600 grit and shot the Revell "Chrom" over the kit chrome. I find it to be a bit warmer than kit chrome, but in my eye it is a more realistic finish for a chrome bumper than kit chrome. Living dangerously, I overcoated it about 90 days later with SpazStix clear, and it still looks good to me. Conversely, I shot the taillight bezels with the Chrom, and they turned out too shiny to my eye for a part that I believe was anodized aluminum (anodised aluminium), so I gave them a light spray of Dullcote and they are still kinda bright. As a sidenote, pre-COVID, I worked with one of Dale's sons out here in California. He was a model guy as well, but Tamiya racing cars and things like that. He really wanted Dale to teach him the vacuum plating process and maybe take over, but the logistics of Pennsylvania to California was a bit of a problem. Not long after we transitioned to working from home in March 2020, he resigned and I have not seen or heard from him since. -

Devil's advocate here: It doesn't look too bad as it is, and I am certain that you will burn through the paint if you try to polish it. My suggestion is to leave it alone until you can get the supplies you need to polish, then practice on spare bodies/hoods/etc. until you get comfortable with the process.
