Do any of you 1:1 McAnnical types have a favorite penetrating oil for aluminum on aluminum? I have tried PB Blaster a couple of times with no luck so far. I am trying to get the high side A/C service valve off of the line so I can replace the valve (1994 S-10). This is a pretty clean "local" truck. The neighbor two doors over was the original owner. The offending item is one of the early R-134a fittings with the rubber seal inside. I have the correct 8-sided socket, but not surprisingly I am starting to round off the fitting. The high side line is NLA from anyone that I can find, and it looks like a bear to get it disconnected from the condensor without dismantling a bunch of things.

While I would never spend $1k to buy and build a model that jumpstarted my addiction hobby, I would hardly notice the missing money today versus the $2.00 I spent from my lawn mowing money for the one I bought in 1969.

Got my Charger and Bel Air today, but I haven't opened the box yet. I think a little detailing would make these things pop, maybe even some PE emblems if they are close to what is made for the plastic kits. I haven't seen the Nova on eBay, and the Brazilian Mavericks are a bit spendy for me.

I would be in for a '59 Coronet 2-door to build Broderick Crawford's car. I know that I could find and convert a Custom Royal kit, but that is actually a fair amount of work.

True, but the pictured engine on the box doesn't really look like either an FE or a 385. This one should probably just have the hood glued shut is you want an accurate stock version. Fun fact: Ford used the 428 P.I. through the 1970 model year in Ford and Mercury police package cars, even though the civilian versions were 429s.

Never had this kit, but I think the stock engine is a "not fish nor fowl" AMT fantasy. The new box says 428, but the pictured exhaust manifolds are not FE. I don't recall what the original annual claimed it to be.

Looks like a fake carbon fiber wall in someone's mom's basement or a bad photoshop to me. I did a Google find for the photo, and all I found it on was antisocial non-media sites.
