  1. I have these. My spouse asked if I wanted to become a part time dentist. No. They work very nicely. My advice is that if you drop one, let it fall to the floor. I grabbed for one that I dropped and did a great job of puncturing my thumb trying to catch it.
  2. It's like that up here as well too. Too many graffiti artists running amok in the stores I guess.... They don't have anything in a spray can I am interested in anyway, except maybe Dullcote. I am not really a fan of the other Testors enamels.
  3. I realize that Chevelle isn't a great leap from Camaro, but they did give us a new tool '68 and '69 Chevelle and some really cool VW T1 and T2 transporter kits.
  4. Was in McHale's Navy as well.
  5. I have had the great pleasure of meeting B-17 Sentimental Journey in person several times and B-17 909 (R.I.P.) once during air shows in my area. I am not familiar with B-17 Texas Rangers, I don't think she has ever made it out here. I have had an inside tour of Sentimental Journey and also B-29 Fifi. At 5'9" both planes were definitely cramped inside to walk around inside. My spouse laughs at me for the time I spend on YouTube watching and listening to anything with four Wright Cyclones starting up and taking off, but it it is an amazing sound experience.
  6. No model car club, but a 7th-8th grade science teacher sponsored a model rocket club. Yes, some of the model rockets were glue-bombs. We didn't have a huge amount of room, so we were limited to "A" engines.
  7. Do you mean the Jeep 230 "Tornado" OHC from the early 60s?
  8. That is not necessarily true. Certain breeds lay brown eggs and their feathers can be black, brown, reddish, or white. This white chicken lays brown eggs. If she is comparing "factory farm" white eggs with "free range" brown eggs, she is probably right about the flavor. A chicken's diet has a lot to do with the flavor of her eggs. An urban farmer I once worked with fed his chickens feed with a lot of chlorophyll, and the yolks were much darker than the white eggs from the market and tasted better too. Of course, they had just emerged from the chicken a few hours before he gave them to me. We used to stink up the break room making hard boiled eggs when Jim brought eggs to share.
  9. Reason enough to get an airbursh I guess. An older lady I used to work with told a story about how her husband went into a dark bathroom and grabbed what he thought was a tube of Preparation H (hemorrhoid cream if you don't have it on that side of the pond). After a liberal application he came to find out that he had grabbed the Bengay instead (menthol and methyl salicylate topical pain reliever that makes the applied area warm and tingly). She said that it was one of the funniest things she had ever seen.
  10. Thanks guys. I feel blessed that I live in such a beautiful area and have a brewpub and a nice Mexican restaurant so close. I also feel blessed that I can walk over there because so many of my younger brothers in styrene have medical issues and could no way do what I did on Saturday.
  11. Cool, thanks. I know who he is. I have a Cobra in the stash, and with the Lightning being available again it might be fun to build the pace car and the official truck.
  12. Had a nice 3-ish mile walk round trip to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for a late lunch. Today was my birthday!
  13. https://www.hagerty.co.uk/articles/the-curse-of-james-deans-little-bastard-porsche-550-spyder/#:~:text=James Dean's career as an,to cause considerably more trouble. This is the story that I have heard various versions of for years. I don't know how true it is, but all of the versions are similar. The engine and transaxle were pulled from the salvaged car, separated, and went on to kill and maim others. If it is true(ish), the engine and transaxle wouldn't have been part of the rest of the wreck that was paraded around. I have been through the intersection of 41 and 46 many times, and it has changed a couple of times over the years. I never saw the way it was in 1955 because Dean was far from the only person killed or severely injured there. By the time I first ventured through there in 1981 to visit a friend in SLO it had already been much modified from its original configuration and has been changed again since.
  14. Where did the "White Lightning" Official Truck decals come from?
  15. There is also the Coke version of the Ford out now. It is a little more expensive, but the Coke machine might be good trading fodder here. I guess I didn't realize that the Chevy had become "rare" again. I thought the police van was just out recently.
  16. Have this dumb idea of asking one of my colleagues at our location in Köln if he would receive a package for me and ship it on...........
  17. Looks nice! I have never built the '63 or the '61 in any version. The color really suits the car.
  18. I must admit that I bought 6 boxes of Count Chocula when it was available at Halloween.
  19. Baldwin sisters' "Recipe"
