Checked another HL this evening and scored a Foose truck. Seven kits in two days, I don't need anything more. Except a Nova wagon.

Yes, I saw the air cleaner thread. Good luck on the build. You should be able to find a usable interior from the 427 version to get the bench seat. What are you going to do about the hood?

Yes, 2016 S Grand Touring. One of the few instances of the top trim level vehicle being available with a manual in recent history. You can still get a manual in the new Premium trim, but only in the hatch. And the dealers don't seem to be ordering many. When I got mine, one dealer had at least one manual sedan in each available color on the lot. Someone on some board had that emblem as an avatar, and I found an Etsy shop that sold the stickers.

Integrated Motor Assist..... IMA....Sounds like a Honduh. Are you within the generous warranty period for the battery packs?

Scenes Unlimited covers are the 66 Galaxie 15 inch versions that were also used on the Bronco. Revell screwed the pooch and the Bronco wheels look like 13 inch versions. Several aftermarket suppliers stepped in and fixed their boo-boo. The ones Tom pointed out are the ones you need for the 14" covers that "may have been" used from 65-67 on the Fairlanes. My 67 GTA that I purchased at a used (up) musclecar dealership in late 1976 had two of these wheelcovers still in place.

Decided to pad the stash at HL before the coupon went away and while the sale was on. Been wanting all of these for a while, just never pulled the trigger. Wanted a Foose truck or two, but they didn't have any at the store I visited.

Kits Which Were Once This, Then Became That
Rodent replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Had one of these in the late 60s or so. I really liked the way it looked. I remember it being huge compared to my 1/25 scale kits, but the 1:1s were only about the length of a 64-65 Chevelle. Would love to get another one, but can't stomach the eBay prices when they come up. -
"Travis" at the HL in Citrus Heights, CA confirmed that the coupons are going away. I got six kits this afternoon at the sale price. Revell Snap '57 Chevy was marked at $22.99, the rest were "real" kits marked at $29.99. Really nice kid. He was making comments about all of them as he was ringing me up and mentioned that the 40% off was a good deal. I agreed, and mentioned that I wanted to stock up during the sale because of the demise of the coupon. Told him that I wanted to add to the "stash" now instead of waiting for another sale, if they were still going to do that. If he knew what their pricing strategy is going forward, he didn't divulge it. Wanted to get a Foose truck or two, but they didn't have any. Will probably check another HL across town tomorrow, just for fun. They had the 007 Galaxie and the 66 Wildcat, but I left both of them there. Still haven't seen the Galaxie at the LHS, which is sad.

Everyday low prices and no sales worked SOOO well for J.C. Penney a few years ago.....

Seats are wrong overall. They are '72 seats, it's not just the headrests.

The 1:1 3.8L SC Cougars were only 89 and 90, so Revell had to tool up for the change.

Could start by ordering a set of the correct front seats for it. https://hartspartsresin.com/product/67-gto-bucket-seats/

I worked for two Ford dealerships as a service advisor, assistant service manager, and dispatcher from 1986-1994, so I was privy to driving a lot of these things new off of the truck. First Probe Turbo drive through a swarm of bugs at nearly 100 mph will be a different story to be related later...... Just my opinion, and I was a 5.0 manual Mustang owner at the time, but..... I found the 87-88 turbo coupe manual pretty amazing. The "Lincoln" suspension with the added travel soaked up the big bumps in the road without fuss. The 2.3L turbo in the higher horsepower version with the manual had plenty of grunt, and was somewhat revvy for an old Pinto engine. Four wheel discs with ABS impressed me as well. Almost bought one. Sister in law did buy a manual one that I enjoyed thoroughly. Then came late summer 1988, and we got the 1989 Thunderbird and Cougar 3.8 SCs (we were a dual Ford/Merc dealership). I took one of the first Thunderbirds out for a test drive and was sorely disappointed. All of the Fox bodied cars had a high, sedan like driving position because they were based on a sedan, the Fairmont. The new 'Bird was more like a Camaro, low and really heavy feeling to me. I guess the BW 5 speed that Ford was using behind the 5.0 wasn't strong enough for the 3.8L SC, so they used a Mazda sourced transmission that was shared with the 4.9L F-150. Yup, it was clunky and shifted like a pickup. The 3.8 SC ran like a tractor and had a low, flat torque curve. No revs, not like a 5.0L or the dearly departed 2.3L turbo. Build quality didn't seem great either, even though Ford was doing a decent job in the mid-late 80s overall in most cases (IMHO). I have a special place for all of these cars because I was able to enjoy them as new cars, but I don't have fond feelings for the supercharged Thunderbirds and Cougars, other than the ones we sold to the California Department Of Justice that were outfitted as undercover cars. They were fun to get back for service and see the hidden radio units and other law enforcement tweaks. Sometimes they would drop a couple of them off and all go back to work in a Grand National.

Does anyone know of a stock front bench for the AMT/Lindberg '64 Belvedere? I see that Hart's makes one for the Dodge that could probably have the upholstery pattern modified to match, but I would rather have one that matches the Belvedere rear seat if one is available. No iteration of this kit ever had a bench seat, did it?
