  1. Those all look sweet..I especially like the T-bird! Your Monte looks a lot like one I finished recently...
  2. That F-85 looks amazing! No progress to speak of, oughta be able to get started on mine next weekend, but here's the body style, the wheels I've chosen, and the main body paint color... The roof will be silver...Interior, I have no idea...lol...and I'll need to order a prewired distributor and wire my first engine.
  3. Is this "General" forum considered to be an "off-topic" forum? If it was, I'd think that non-automotive subjects would be welcome here. If it isn't, then this site needs an off-topic or other subjects forum. That was the final straw that drove me away from Mr Haught and his site, when he chose to remove the "off-topic" forum. And the 3-pic limit...
  4. One theory I've heard is that they use a different Stiggy based on whatever car is being tested...different drivers most familiar with the car being tested to get the quickest time. Or Captain Slow, as was stated earlier.
  5. My favorite song recently has been Dream Theater's "The Count of Tuscany"...can't go wrong with a nearly 20-minute song that is allegedly a true story about the band's guitarist meeting the person that the character of Hannibal Lecter was based upon. Here's 14 minutes of it, taped during drummer Mike Portnoy's recording of the drum tracks... The Count of Tuscany
  6. Are these pens available in red? That'd be good for redline tires too.
  7. Welcome aboard Mike, your Daytona is shaping up to be a stunner! Between this build and an article on a resto-mod "Dayclona" in the new issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines, I think I need to put this kit on my list!
  8. Never seen a Superbird wing on a 'cuda or Challenger...very cool! So, who's gonna step up and represent for Oldsmobile and Buick in this build?
  9. I'll start building my Fairlane as soon as I clear off the Tamiya Skyline 2000GTR that's on the bench right now. Shouldn't be too long. The Fairlane is going to be Testors One-Coat Icy Blue with a Model Master Sterling Silver roof and Centerline wheels stolen from the parts box. Whether the Centerlines remain chrome, are dullcoated, or painted a darker gray with chrome lip remains to be seen. And I agree, I'd like to see less bickering on what makes a "muscle car" and more building.
  10. Well, the kit I wanted to build wasn't available at Hobby Lobby, so I'm going with Revell's '64 Ford Fairlane. I have no idea what the colors will be (it will be a 2-tone), or what he wheels/tires will be, but at least I have a subject now! Mmmmmm, 2-door, 427-ci goodness....
  11. I'm definitely in, I'll post my subject no later than Saturday (the first chance I can get to Hobby Lobby to see what grabs me...lol).
  12. This is right up my alley, I'm in! (But i have no idea what I'll build yet...lol...I'll post my choice this weekend!) EDIT: Hypothetically speaking, would an El Camino fit within the parameters of a "muscle car"?
  13. That's hot! Wasn't this the subject of an article in that "other" magazine a few years ago?
  14. Here's mine...not much to look at, but it gets the job done... Current project...
  15. Looks great! I have that kit but I'm still deciding if i want to go stock or do some mods on it...
  16. Hey Bill, I have a quick question regarding your use of the polishing cloths...do you sand each grit in the same direction, or do you criss-cross with each successive grit? Thanks for the tutorial!
  17. My company offers $100 Visa gift cards if you enroll in their Wellness program...not a bad exchange for being poked in the arm with a needle and finding out just how fat I really am...lol ANYways, I took that gift card to Hobbytown USA after work tonight and got a Revell of Germany Sauber Mercedes c9, a Revell of Germany Jaguar XK-120, a Revell Shelby Cobra, a Tamiya Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (half price!), a bottle of Tamiya liquid cement, and a new sheet of BMF. Total was $99.12, on a $100 gift card.
  18. Nice and clean, and the redline/Cragar combo just makes it pop!
  19. Wow, really nice! A lot better than mine turned out...lol
  20. Wow, beautiful build!
  21. Felt line a no-brainer build, so I picked up this kit during a 30%-off sale at Hobby Lobby. Paint is Testors One-Coat Root Beer lacquer with Wet-Look clear, interior is Testors Fabric Tan, vinyl top is Testors Wimbledon White topped with Dull-Cote. A built-up Revell '79 Z28 made the ultimate sacrifice and gave up its wheels and tires. Curbside, so no engine/chassis shots. It looks a LOT better in person than in pics...hope y'all like it!
  22. Man, I haven't been "preoccupied" in years! ;)
  23. Wow, that's a beauty!
  24. Awesome!
  25. It looks fantastic as is, but part of me thinks it might look pretty cool with some mud on 'er!
