  1. Anyone know the difference between these two kits?
  2. Saw this a cpl weeks ago near our town diner
  3. I built a paint booth like that using MDF and even purchased the gloves with retaining rings. The gloves are to stiff and bulky, I cut them back several times to make 'finger' gloves, then all the way back to the wrist. It then sucked in shreds from the glove liner and created a heavier vacuum around my arm bringing in anything on me(lint) and close to the cabinet. Make sure to groud the metal cabinet to help not generate static. Will need to add a filter bed. Keep in mind screen surface when setting painted parts as it will be an unstable surface. Hope this helps.
  4. Success! Functional tie rod.
  5. Fiddled with chassis some more, cut two of the three bodies for now. Save the last one for later in case a reference is needed.
  6. Progress!
  7. We believe the gentleman was going to cast the parts that are missing. Most of the promos are missing the same parts.
  8. Lowered a tic and centered the wheel
  9. Got this from our club president, came from a local man's LARGE collection. Just need to replace missing chrome and wheels.
  10. I will paint front suspension then add the u bolts. It turned out a shade higher than I wanted, may try to lower front a bit. Thanks again to the builders on here who challenge my abilities, doing alot that I normally wouldn't tackle. Also, lowering this bench and the new chair make building much more enjoyable! Thanks for looking!
  11. Update on front end. I worked the springs to where I like them, finished straight axel, and brackets.
  12. From the phone it shows minimal info, says nothing about close out. I understood that the son was carrying on the tire portion of the business.
  13. When I did a 57 Chevy conversion, I used some hobby chisels as scrapers for most of it, then of course finish with sanding. The chisels are from Micro Mark.
  14. They all do look very nice, but the webpage doesn't list any sizes per tire and contact link doesn't work. Unless it's something to do with my phone. I will check again when I get home.
  15. Actually, I just counted the number of pieces... there's 720 bolts and 720 nuts per side for $5.95. So that's 1440 pcs.
  16. Well now you tell me!LOL I will definitely check that out. Thanks!
  17. My trip to HL and another hobby shop
  18. I searched all my kits to find no front springs I liked or of good quality. Found some from Australia, but a front end set up for one would cost $28 shipped. So I'm fabbing my own...
  19. Doesn't the box just suck you in sometimes?
  20. I found the Willys chassis to be too different and the ones given to me to use for that purpose are 1/25, where the bodies are in1/24. Finally got wheels and backs done, had a few issues to overcome. Mocked up the stance with finished wheels. Now getting springs and axles to work out. Would like to find a better set than the 55 kit, tinkering with making some.
  21. Got this new chair last Saturday for my model bench. Tired of the bar chair set up, noticed where many of you had desks and chairs. So I lowered the bench to desk height. Way comfy now...got clearanced chair for $45.

  23. My suggestions are to watch tutorials on here and check out builds in the 'On the Workbench' section. When I got back into building, these guys on here really changed how built models, great group, LOTS of talent! Don Yost also has a couple videos if you want to check out his methods.
  24. If we would like to place an order for something, can we contact you? So he doesn't have to worry about an order, just take needed recovery time. Sorry also to hear about his condition, he will be prayed for.
  25. The guy who taught me how to paint years ago, has one of these, but a radio truck. Rough riding to go to work in I'll tell you.
