Sad Sad Sad News: Our Harry Passed Away
64SS350 replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I too did not know much about Harry, but by everyone's comments and concern here, he must have a good man. I feel for the family as I can relate also. May the Lord be with his family! -
Got all this at the Stark Scale Model Show yesterday, which is my only local show. Lots of good people to work with and buy from.

I took a piece of rectangular brass tubing, cut it two or three times( left one leg intact), radiused to match molding and resoldered. Smoothed out the solder, then super glued(on the fender well opening) and clamped brass in place. Used a razor blade to 'scrape out material and rescribed lines. It helped to blacken door lines to gage your progress. Once satisfied, I just removed brass guide and flipped for other side of body.

Anyone had this problem with Tamiya Paint?
64SS350 replied to 64SS350's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Since I'm this far comitted, I sprayed some white Tamiya primer over it to see if it would smooth out. So far it did, now I need more paint..... Drat! -
Beware of his castings, I bought a couple to check out his work, since they were going pretty cheap, boy are they ever!

Well I will be doing one or two for another CPB, but I could showcase them here also.

This is all lines where styrene came together in mold plus primer texture. No extensive body had to be done. -

Maybe I pulled a no no, but I never had a problem like this before. I used Dupli Color primer,(on two bodies) then shot Tamiya rattle can over it. Looked OK, until later, when primer and body (styrene) lines seem to rise up through paint. Bought a second can, tried on a spoon with primer, second coat went good. Reshot bodies, again later the same thing happened. Are these destined to be stripped??

Trying to finish the other two builds, so in between I started prepping parts of the Camaro. Cleaned up the body and chassis, drilled out the axle and spindles to accommodate the C1 tires. Here's the stance so far.

I am going to borrow 'Bumblebee' as he appeared in T4, he will transform later into his more modern form to throw off those pesky Highway Patrol. Since he runs off alien power, we won't have to stop for gas.

OK, decided to jump in here. Haven't been able to the last couple of years. I am working on a couple others, then onto the Cannonball! Here's my entries from years past.
