  1. Thanks for the 1st hand account. So you did the base white and then added primer? Or what were your steps? Thank you. So do you recommend spraying primer first, then this, then primer? Or the Mr. White and then primer?
  2. Have any of you ever used this as a barrier with a kit molded in black or another bright color such as red? Is it effective at preventing bleed through? Also, what's the difference between the Base White and this:
  3. Not usually my cup of tea, but these are turning out beautiful!
  4. I would try David's suggestion first. I've done that before and it worked for me. The key point is, as he said, to try to blend everything in together. If that doesn't work then you'll have to start over.
  5. I've seen other pictures of this body and while it looks good for the most part, the rear of the roof is off. There's that huge lip which makes it seem like the roof is a bit sunk in. Is this part of what you're referring to?
  6. Just confirming it's this one? I'm confused since it's labeled as "chrome" but described as "new improved."
  7. Hmm, sounds like it'll only have the dropped suspension. Thank you.
  8. Please advise if it has options for a stock height or just the lowered stance.
  9. The decal sheets are what I'm most interested in. If they can build on top of the decals that were included with the Coca Cola monster truck, that would signal another vast improvement over the original kits.
  10. True. I'm assuming this one was the follow up to the original you're talking about? I noticed they added C-1500 to it.
  11. True, but the 90's releases also had "C-1500" prominently displayed. Anyhow, not complaining. Just an observation.
  12. Here's the box art. I feel like they could have done better with it, but at the end of the day what really matters is what's inside the box. Also, calling it a "Silverado" is technically incorrect since this generation was still referred to as C/K-*500. But I bet they called it a Silverado to appeal to more modern audiences.
  13. A few aftermarket outfits have made it throughout the years. Here's a current offering: http://wylde.ca/canuck3d.html
  14. I got all of these this past week. Minus the S-10, I got the rest from Steve Kohler at Star Models for great prices. Great guy to deal with!
  15. I'm excited to see this one progress!
  16. That's looking great so far!
  17. Thanks, but he only has the diamond tread ones. Which I've actually already purchased. I was looking to have a few, so I'd prefer not to scratch build. I don't have the patience for such large (but admittedly straightforward) designs.
  18. Thanks. I've searched there and actually did find some nice modern renderings of diamond plate boxes in 1/24-1/25. But yeah, most is focused on the RC market.
  19. Does anybody know of any 3D files of this or a similar tool box or can anybody make this tool box? I know that Chris Olson offers it in resin, but he doesn't seem to be actually making stuff right now so I'm looking for alternatives. I don't need the box to open, just the basic design.
  20. Not to keep ragging on the guy but...I don't think the finishes are as good as they look. If you catch certain glimpses and angles, you'll see spots where the finishes aren't great. I've noticed a lot of hazing in some of his builds. And the photos that are taken and subsequently used by modelroundup don't allow you to zoom in and see some of this stuff. Yeah he does great with the tools he uses and I certainly understand part of his appeal, but I would caution that his finishes look good from afar but from up close, maybe not so much. I would be happy to be proven wrong, but the quality of the pictures showing the finished product and the video angles/lighting don't allow me to make a good conclusion.
  21. Thank you for the update.
  22. @OldmoparsDo you think this grill might be a possibility in the future?
  23. Beautiful build. Great job!
