  1. Thank you Dominik. The grill is a resin piece that I purchased from an outfit named Holy Grail Resin. They offer the grills in a traditional resin and in a clear resin. I bought the clear resin specifically to make the headlights look more realistic. All I did was paint the rear of the headlights with a light grey color. I left the front alone as that more or less achieved the look I wanted.
  2. Thanks Chris! So I've moved on to the interior for now. Interior references have been hard to come by but I did get this shot of a retired CHP 1995 GMC Sierra truck. The Rams and Sierras would have served at the same time, so it's a great reference. As you can see, the truck has split seats to make room for a rifle/shotgun rack in the middle. The truck also had a black center console between the seats, in front of the rack. Unfortunately, the AMT Ram kit comes with a bench seat: This is no challenge for a razor saw though! It helps that the bench seat has well-defined and deep lines, making excellent guides for the saw. Here is one of the seats and some interior pieces that I started to fabricate from evergreen stock. The shotgun is from the Lindberg Crown Victoria kit. I cut down the extended capacity tube on the shotgun to the standard size, as used by the CHP. The white surround on the shotgun is the lock ring for the gun rack: More to come later.
  3. Thank you! I got it from Texas_3D_Customs. He's here on the forum. PM him directly if you're interested in one. Thank you! Yeah I enjoyed working on the D-100 so much that I wanted to do a follow up pickup truck. The 3/4-ton wheels that the CHP used on these are not available in the aftermarket or in any kit so I will just use the kit's wheels. They are still correct for a 2500 3/4-ton truck. I'm planning on stripping the chrome and painting them black.
  4. Since the kit is essentially an unbuilt promo, it does not come with side mirrors. Luckily, I have some old Modelhaus mirrors specifically made for this truck. I drilled holes on the truck and mirrors to secure them together with a satin pin.
  5. The kit had been unopened and still in the original shrink wrap with no exterior damage. When I opened it up, I found the cab like this: I suppose I could have tried to fix it with some light heat and bending, but I went to ebay where I found a replacement cab for fairly cheap. Here's the first mockup, with the main body in primer after receiving a Dawn wash and initial sanding: The primer revealed some fine mold lines, so more sanding will be required. The bed has a bit of warpage, but overall the kit is in good condition and workable. The centerpiece is a custom 3D-printed topper that some members here on the forum designed and printed for me. The results are fantastic, though the topper will need some clean up work just like any other 3D-printed piece.
  6. Here's my next project - a mid-90's Dodge Ram 2500 commercial enforcement unit of the California Highway Patrol. I will be using the AMT SnapFast Plus kit for the truck.
  7. I have 2 as well, and they are nice pieces. I was just hoping someone could 3D print them so that the vents could be open.
  8. I agree. I suggested the 1983-1991 grill on the 3D Request thread, but no response yet.
  9. Would the brackets even be visible? I ask because I just completed a Dodge D-100 with spare tires mounted in a similar fashion on the bed. I dropped the idea of making the brackets when I realized that they would not be visible under the wheels. So I just glued the wheels in place. Unless you just wanted to display the brackets without the wheels mounted..
  10. That's the ultimate compliment, thank you! Thank you!
  11. How about the 1983-1991 grill for the AMT Econoline kit? And also the correct "base model" hubcaps for it?
  12. Thank you all. The compliments mean a lot.
  13. Thank you! Thank you! Yes, I like to build realistic models based on an actual subject. Thank you! Thank you! It's from Duncan Nodarese. https://pcl-resin-models.myshopify.com/?fbclid=IwAR2MSKPBGFpMErvIb-WKAfh4KXhvq0i-jSvyEUONMLnCE6Z_urZVgVNT0gg
  14. Here's my latest: a mid-70's Dodge D-100 truck of the New Mexico State Police drip gas detail. I used the latest release of the MPC Dodge truck kit but used the wheels and tires from the latest MPC Dodge Monaco release as they have much more depth than the steel wheels that came with the truck kit. The police decals are from Chimneyville and the smaller Dodge-specific decals are from Ray's Kits. The grill is a resin piece from Holy Grain Resin and the tool box is from Olson Brothers Resin. The light bar was mostly scratch built by me using different odds and ends from other pieces. I also stripped and repainted all of the kit chrome for a more realistic finish. I only had a grainy reference photo from a book to go off of, which I've attached at the end.
  15. I won't buy it if it doesn't have a stock suspension (which I'm sure it won't), but I'm definitely interested in seeing how the decal sheet turns out as Revell has been hitting it out of the ballpark recently with decals.
  16. Grill looks nice! Can you walk me though how exactly you did it? And how much thickness was still left?
  17. Looks great! I would definitely buy 1-2 if somebody printed them. Maybe Iceman? We'll see...
  18. Hpiguys just uploaded an unboxing of the kit on his youtube channel. Check out the decal sheet - pretty much the exterior decals we were all wanting:
