I was tempted to build my own, but my scratch building skills just aren't there yet. I That's why I was hoping somebody would be willing to take a custom order for one (or two).
-
Does anybody out there make custom camper shells in 1/24-1/25 scale? I was looking at getting something like this made.
-
Thank you all for the compliments.

Here's my completed 2018 Border Patrol F-150. I prefer to work with plastic over diecast, but I couldn't pass the subject matter up. I used the Motormax 2019 F-150 Lariat truck for this project. This truck is officially labeled as a 1/27 model, but I would put it closer to 1/25-1/26. I left the white paint as is but painted the front and rear bumpers, grill, mirrors, c pillars, and door handles a flat black to de-trim it to a base XL model. I also blacked out the rear windows as a Border Patrol truck would have a heavy window tint. I used the wheels and tires off of the most recent reissue of the Revell Ford Expedition Police SUV. Even though they are horribly anachronistic for the Revell Expedition, they are perfect and accurate for this truck. I also painted the interior to match an XL truck and added a radio console, mic, and center divider from a Lindberg Crown Victoria. The duffel bag came from the Revell Expedition. The light bar is from the Lindberg Dodge Charger police car kit. Decals are from Billbozo. I added the last two pictures for reference.

Very clean build! -
You nailed this one! I plan on doing a similar one myself. Again, happy to see that the decals I sold to you went to a good project.

Beautiful! -
Happy to hear it got to you. Hope you can do something with that extra sheet I sent over. Though I wouldn't be offended if you threw it away. I thought about doing it ?

Thank you, Max. The paint is Tamiya TS-60 pearl green out of the can. I answered your private message regarding the decals. Best.

Some good advice on here, thanks. It sounds like even when taking the age of the Purple Pond into account, it won't work with Plastikote. I'll try Easy Off.
-
Title pretty much says it all. About 2-3 years ago, I primed a body with grey plastikote primer. Left it alone after that but I want to strip it now since it wasn't my best primer job. It's been sitting in a bath of purple pond for the last 2 days but nothing has happened. The purple pond is about 4 years old and has been used before. Any tips? Thank you in advance.

What’s your most and least favourite task?
av405 replied to NOBLNG's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Most: doing interiors. Least: BMF on window trim. -
You're forgetting the Revell 2010-2014 Ford Raptor and 2017+ Raptor.
-
Outstanding build! I'm actually working on a 1993 B4C using the same kit as well. It's going to be a Colorado State Patrol car. One question though: How did you get the wheels to look the way they do now?
-
Looks good! If you're truly not happy with the BMF, you can at least remove the foil around the wheel wells. The 1978's didn't have chrome around the wheels.

Just wanted to refer to you guys to a new 3D aftermarket producer: https://zforcemodelworx.com/ He's only got a few things right now, but I know this will interest many of you: He has a lot of other projects planned for down the road. I ordered a few grills and a pair of wheels from him and they arrived a few days later. Extremely nice product and a great guy to deal with. Highly recommended!
