  1. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. Great job fellas! I'm truly loving the collaborative aspect of this.
  2. When I worked at a suburban Los Angeles TRU 4 years ago, we didn't carry any kits at our particular store. You could, however, order certain kits through our website. I distinctly remember the Revell 1977 GMC pickup being one of them. Apart from that, the only kits I've ever seen recently at some stores have been the above mentioned Ecto 1, Revell 1999 Civic, and the Revell Snap and Play Mustangs.
  3. Wow! Not to hijack, but any more pictures of your setup? I love what you did with the Crown Vics.
  4. Nicely done! You decided against adding the division numbers on the trunk?
  5. Hobby Lobbys are probably the best bet as far as getting kits and supplies from a brick and mortar at a decent price. They have everything you need to get you started off. I believe there's two HLs in close proximity to Long Beach, but I'm sure you know this by know. The go to shop in the LA metro area is definitely Burbank's House of Hobbies in Burbank. You won't regret taking a trip there.
  6. That's great news. I was just looking over how many of their hubcaps I had and realized I didn't have enough to cover the amount of cars I plan to purchase. Thank you.
  7. I went to my local HL and I wouldn't say most. There were about ten automotive kits on clearance. Definitely not a bad deal though. I picked up the Dodge Ramcharger for 6.75. The best deal is probably the AMT Aero Chief at 12.50! I would have picked it up but I already have one. I was hoping to get another MPC GMC Deserter but that one wasn't on clearance. No matter, I'm very happy with the deal I got on the Dodge.
  8. Did you make the camper shell?
  9. Amazing. Are those the Modelhaus wheels/hubcaps? I bought a bunch of those right before they closed in anticipation of this project (don't say I didn't believe in ya Dwayne )
  10. Excellent work as always! I love what you did with the headlights and taillights. How much did you pay for the decals from speedway?
  11. Thanks Snake. I ended up looking at Troy'sToys and they seemed to have the best prices and inventory selection.
  12. I recently started getting an interest in 1/64 diecast, specifically front Greenlight. I know that Hobby Lobby and Toys R Us sell them. With HL's higher pricing, even using the 40% off coupon results in pricing similar to that of Toys R Us. Does anybody have recommendations for online sites that sell Greenlight cars at a good price?
  13. I'm embarrassed to say I missed that post Very fine work!
  14. Great job! What's the source of your decals?
  15. I don't like the headlights on the Limited model. They're too small in comparison to the grill and remind me too much of a Toyota.
  16. Nice work. How/s your Los Angeles Sheriff Caprice coming along? I remember seeing it on your fotki page a while back.
  17. I am. I've always stated on here that being a child of the 90's, I wanted to see more of the cars I grew up with. So I'm putting my money where my mouth is. The fact that it can be built as a plain Cutlass is the deciding factor.
  18. Your resin grill is for a 1981-1982 model. Typically it was the lower-trim Custom Deluxe that had the single headlight grill. Most Blazers didn't have these so that grill is perfect.
  19. Looks promising! I'll be following. I too have been looking for those type of hubcaps but have not found any. How do you plan on updating the front door frames?
  20. I've slipped up with the X actos too. Not something hard to fix but annoying nonetheless. I like your coarse flat file idea. Any suggestions on size? Or just what one would look like for modeling applications?
  21. I just got my set too. Very happy with the quality and when I test fitted on the Monaco body, I saw that the dimensions were just right. Very pleased.
  22. A few years ago I removed the side molding trim of a plastic car body using a friend's dremel tool and I remember it being fairly painless. Certainly easier than using an X acto knife. That's why since then I've had the curiosity. But I appreciate the feedback fellas.
  23. I am looking to buy a Dremel tool. Nothing too fancy, just something with a good speed that can help me with removing trim off the side of plastic kits and other small things like that. I found the 7300 and 7700 on Amazon. Does anybody have experience with these? If so what would you recommend? https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-7300-N-MiniMite-4-8-Volt-Two-Speed/dp/B003TU0XFU/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1513021721&sr=1-4&keywords=dremel+7300 https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-7700-1-15-MultiPro-7-2-Volt/dp/B002BACCDA/ref=sr_1_9?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1513021721&sr=1-9&keywords=dremel+7300 And yes, I realize there are other Dremel threads already but they are a bit older and make recommendations for tools that are no longer made. I'm willing to take suggestions for other tools as well for my needs.
