  1. Thank you all for the compliments. They are from the Lindberg Crown Victoria kit. I've built some of these kits in the past, so I had a few extra Ford ovals laying around.
  2. Thank you all for the compliments! I really enjoyed doing this. I sent the pictures to Edith as soon as I finished it.
  3. I doubt it gator. Your stuff is always good! So you're also doing a 1991 Caprice Border Patrol car?
  4. Here is how the car stands now. I went back to it last week and modified the side molding to reflect the chrome trim that was on the real cars and added the missing hood ornament. And most importantly of all, I replaced the original Border Patrol seal with a much more accurate one. I'd say the car is finally finished.
  5. About 4 years ago, I attended the Model Kit Collector's Expo show and swap meet in Buena Park, CA. I bought an old Lindberg Crown Victoria that had been built up by the show's founder, Bob Keller (RIP). The model was sold to me by his daughter, Edith. We got to talking and I told her that I would restore her father's model. Bob had already done an excellent job building an accurate representation of a 1995 Crown Victoria of the Orange County, CA Sheriff's Department. But years of neglect had led to parts going missing and blemishes on the body. Long story short, I finally restored the build. I cleaned up the body and applied a black wash to the panel lines and wheel covers. I added missing Ford decals to the grill, trunk, and one of the wheels. I replaced the stock bumper with a scratch-built Go Rhino bar that OCSD used at the time. I added antennas and finished the build off with an OCSD-spec light bar from Dave Panek. The last photo is from the day I bought the model.
  6. Clean work, nicely done!
  7. Thank you for posting that. It gives some clarification.
  8. I've been trying to buy some things on their website. When I get to the Payment Method section at checkout, it says "Warning: No Payment options are available. Please contact us for assistance!." Red flag number one. So I went ahead and contacted them about the payment methods and haven't received a reply. It's been 2 days. Red flag number two.
  9. https://rmrmodels.com/collections/1970s-present-1/products/1973-79-chevy-crew-cab Shoot them an email and see what they say.
  10. I've been hoping that somebody casts these. They would also be correct for the Monogram 1987 F-250 truck and for the base XL line of F-150s from the 1980's to the 1990's. I think the closest substitute out there are the Moebius hubcaps. I've tried snagging up extra sets whenever I see them for cheap on ebay to use on other projects. I've been anxiously waiting for you to finish these so I can buy one or two. Also more of your 80's Econoline grills. It's great timing that the Econoline is being rereleased at the same time as your offering.
  11. OUTSTANDING! Beautiful work!
  12. Greg, I sent you a PM a few days ago.
  13. These would be the best bet as far as wheels/hubcaps go: http://www.madmodeling.com/Item/dogdishtruck
  14. Does anybody have pics of the newly tooled stock hubcaps?
  15. Very impressive, nice work. What paints did you use?
  16. Hi Ron,

i have two sets. How does $6 for both sound, including shipping? I have paypal.

  17. That's horrible box art. The top portion of the cab isn't accurately rendered. I like the theme, but the truck needs work...
  18. Simple and clean, nice. I really like what you did with the taillights.
  19. Will you also be working on the appropriate wheels and hubcaps?
  20. Dave, I'll be watching this. Definitely a product I'd be interested in purchasing.
  21. Is that a rear deck light that you added? Are you trying to make a slick top? The regular patrol cars (the first that would have been on the scene and all shot up) all had light bars. A heavily damaged slick top car probably wouldn't be accurate as those were driven by the SWAT/other specialized guys who arrived late to the party. Not criticizing. It seems like you're striving for accuracy so I want to help.
  22. I also share your love for this generation of trucks. As for aftermarket parts for these trucks, BNL Resins is your best bet. As an example, here's a set of 1992-1996 rims that they exclusively make: http://www.b-n-lresins.com/shoppingopencart/Aftermarket-resin-cast-1-24-1-25-scale-hobby-model--wheels/Ford-wheels-num-2-resin-cast-1-24-1-25-scale
  23. Top notch build! Excellent job.
  24. I bought the decal sheet from 2012 a few months ago on ebay. I wanted the CHP and Las Vegas decals. I was not disappointed at all. I wish they did another "multi pack" set like this one. Since police car schemes were so much simpler back int the 70's, it wouldn't exactly break AMT's bank. CHP is a lot like the current Coca Cola branding, people will buy any kit that has them just for the association.
