68 Camaro El General Pro Mod (updates 05/06/12)
eviltwincustoms replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looks like the primer laid down really smooth for you after stripping it all down. Looks like you are past the Hard Part and on to the next step. -
69 Nova outlaw prostreet Finished (09/02/12)
eviltwincustoms replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Tyrone, I think I like these front wheels with the black rears much better than the 5 star black wheels. Are you tired of working on this car yet? I am still willing to take it off of your hands! -
Now this isn't half bad in making the "Fish Bowl" look better. Kinda like polishing a turd.... you can only do so much with it.
-
Well there is a reason why you don't find pictures of this car. That is because this body style was a mistake when it was designed, in addition to being way to short for any Pro Mod type build. Are you sure you are wanting to build it into the pro mod class? Or do you mean pro stock, or gas classification?

1/16th TDR Camaro Pro Mod and Dirt Modeler mock up
eviltwincustoms replied to ratnasty's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
You would just need to reach out to TIM at TDR and ask if they can down size the parts. If there isn't an issue with doing that, he can get them uploaded for purchasing fairly quickly. One thing TIM said is, "The squeaky wheel gets the Grease!" They cater to the modeler, all we have to do is ask if it is a part they sell in a larger scale and don't have it on their site. They are really pretty good about doing what they can to make things available to all scales. -
Now that is a sweet lookin falcon. Great job in wrapping it up, I am sure you are.pleased with the finished product.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018
eviltwincustoms replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Man Chris, that chassis is pretty much all been cut out and replaced. You should just do yourself the justice and get rid of the remaining stock parts and replace them with styrene. This way you can say it is completely been rebuilt from scratch and nothing is original. -
68 Camaro El General Pro Mod (updates 05/06/12)
eviltwincustoms replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Tyrone, may I make a suggestion on your paint and what to lay down first? Start with the white then come and fade in the blue. This way you don't have to do any taping yet. Then come back and lay out your graphics and paint the orange. If you can I would suggest an intercoat clear and then lay out your orange graphic, this will make sure you don't have issues with the paint pulling up. -
68 Camaro El General Pro Mod (updates 05/06/12)
eviltwincustoms replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
From what I can see the only real issue is the scoop with that chunk at the bottom by the hood being the issue. Other than that the small piece toward the front will be taken care of with the pin stripe from what I can see on the passengers side. What does the drivers side look like? -
coming soon 2012 camaro pro mod
eviltwincustoms replied to blackbeard's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Well if he works through the same person with TDR it will be in all scales. -

Looking good, I like that hue of blue. that blue looks like textured paint. Are you using spray bombs or airbrush to create that fade? it looks like it left a spitting effect in the transition. -
1/16th TDR Camaro Pro Mod and Dirt Modeler mock up
eviltwincustoms replied to ratnasty's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
You make a very valid point. However the link provided isn't the proper 4link bracket for a Mark Williams housing. In turn the measurements wouldn't be accurate even in 1/16th scale. That style of bracket is more for the modified 9" rear end, like Dave is building in his thread. -

eviltwincustoms replied to ratnasty's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Yep but those I don't think were meant for the Mark Williams rear end to begin with. And that Flashpoint MW rear end housing is sitting in my scrap pile after getting the one from TDR. I think, I have either rebuilt or repurchased everything I have purchased from FP Motorsports. -
What makes a race car a Pro Mod?
eviltwincustoms replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Then hold him or anyone for that matter to the standard, it doesn't need the continual nagging on the subject. Please the guy was just trying to provide insight to those that may not be aware of Pro Mods. -
Onboard fire supression system HELP!
eviltwincustoms replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Another cool reference pics. What location is this Dave? When we start looking at close up pics, they seem to lose the location, especially for me not being around these types of cars or race cars in general. -
What is wrong with these pictures? It is a 2010 but still not that much different. http://www.dragzine.com/news/rj-race-cars-builds-2010-camaro-competition-body-2/
-
Ah very cool, I have seen quite a few 2010 Camaro's just by googling. Are you looking for specific angles? If you can help others with what you are needing this may help with getting replies. Plus you won't get pictures that you either already have of that angle.

Onboard fire supression system HELP!
eviltwincustoms replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Umm possibly because you are saying what you posted is what the "Big Boys use" for Nitro applications. When in fact that is like slapping Dave and saying what he posted isn't the right application for the requested poster. Just saying, I would think that someone that races and is around Pro Mods quite frequently should know what he is talking about. I could be off base. -
Onboard fire supression system HELP!
eviltwincustoms replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I like the diagram, that is pretty detailed information on routing and connecting the bottles. As for not adding this and saying it is a detail that can be left out.... I would have to question that thought process. If you are building an accurate scale car of anything, nothing should be left out. Why add some detail and not others? Sure you can use the easy way out and say it isn't seen, but the builder knows it isn't there. Making the build no longer accurate. -
Wow I was not aware of that, that makes perfect since! I would do the same thing then if that is what he uses, I would want to make it as accurate as possible to the real thing. Thanks for that insight!
-
Thanks for the insight and the complement on my block. I have a lot of work to go into it. Wow so your runners are rivets? They look very convincing. So is it possible to request a catalogue from sonnys? I find this is the best way to see details and such, is to request catalogues and go to the manufacturers Web sites when possible. It is very time consuming, but well worth it.
-
Jack, I don't see anything about your Sonny's style engine. Are you building off of any dimensions you have or just building to what looks accurate? I really like your valve covers and the intake runners up to your top. Very interesting ingenuity in building what you have posted.
-
Very cool Jack, curious what is with the Wood Veneer? Why not scale aluminum/brass/tin or even styrene for your thickness?
-
TDR doesn't have a 2012 Camaro, are you referring to the 69 that a bunch of us have picked up? If so check out Daves thread.
