  1. I believe cheap fleet Pintos were sold to any entity that wanted them. I remember New Jersey Bell using Pintos and Gremlins as service vehicles. No back seats, room for tools and gear...
  2. I've been plotting my plan for my 24 Hour Build for this upcoming weekend. Today I realized that my Falcon Modified Stocker has no radiator! So I scoured my stash and found that the one from the AMT '55 Chevy pickup would work. I measured it off and noted what work I'd have to do to it once the clock starts!
  3. Before and After.... a $5 glue bomb
  4. Here's some information about the show! Be there!
  5. Wow! The things you don't realize unless someone points them out. I've had a couple of these for eons and never gave this a second thought!
  6. Cool stuff! Welcome to the board!
  7. Great work in a short amount of time! Nice solution
  8. Me too! There’s just something right about restoring an old model that’s been waiting 40-50 years!
  9. I have a bag of those little clothes pins on my bench too, they do come in handy
  10. Yea that strategy worked for me! I couldn't find my scriber, bought another and guess what popped up? It's good to have two of everything just for this reason.
  11. Man! Did you buy the entire swap meet?! ? You done real good! I know a bunch of folks that were headed to that show.... do you know Tom Valenta and Sarge Hollen?
  12. Interior looks superb! You really breathed life into that ancient tub!
  13. Sometimes if I'm uncertain, I will tape the body to the stand's holders. I've had them go SPRING@! Off into the muck in the bottom of the paint booth! You are doing well for your first project! Go for it!
  14. Jay, your 60 Plymouth wagon is outstanding! What did you use for the chassis and engine bay?
  15. Wow! Glad I'm not in Canada! Here in the Philadelphia suburbs it snowed a little yesterday, but as it got warmer the snow turned to rain. Last night as I went to bed, I hit the weather app on my phone to take a quick look and the temperatures were all listed as 1-2 degrees! I almost flipped until I realized that somehow my app got changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius! I figured out how to change it back and temperatures went in the mid 30s. Today it's sunny and 37 degrees. All the snow has melted off hard surfaces. Thankfully!

  17. Thanks, when I've gone to shops looking for Metalizer spray cans in the past 6 months, the spots in the rack have been empty. I had heard through this board (as rumors go) that they were discontinued. I'm hoping you are right!
  18. Stability of 3d printed items overall is much more serious than parts placed on model cars. There are critical applications such as printing replacement parts for machinery and implanting parts in human bodies.
  19. I like the Metalizers in the spray can. I use them a lot to give an engine compartment or chassis interest by using different metal tones. Often it's not the metal named on the can, but if it looks right.... I'm sorry to hear that they are going away. I've never tried the bottles.
  20. I spent some time familiarizing myself with the assembly of my 24 Hour Build for next weekend. I will be building the Falcon Stocker, and hopefully I will be putting the final touches on it right about now! I also created my own decals and printed the sheet. It will be interesting.

  22. Here in the Philly suburbs the snow was a minor inconvenience. A few inches that turned to rain yesterday afternoon, it's already melted off the street and walks. Its 37 degrees right now so the rest of the snow will melt off quickly. It will be in the 40s later in the week.

    Looks great!
  24. Yea! The Blue Beetle is now completed and is in the Under Glass section! And a note after reading through this thread. I was not successful in restoring the original roll bar hoop. I wound up using a new one from the Blue Bandito kit.
  25. I don't mind reading old threads, or people starting new threads. What I don't like is when someone starts a new thread and someone chastises them the information is in old threads and they should go search for it. Boards like this are interactive and people do like to ask and receive information in real time. Especially since if someone answers my question I can go back and converse with them for more information. That's why it's called "Social Media"! And note that information changes over time. If I went to look at a five year old thread, there may be better answers to my problem today like Molotov pens and other new items. Also, a kit may have since been reissued, a resin kit may have been created... you get it!
