  1. Very nice job, and those decals just about couldn't be any better. Great looking Mustang.
  2. Years ago, I started making this grille. I'd always liked the Canadian versions of US cars with their often wild looking details, and the plan here was to build a Beaumont and bask in contest table glory; because who else would have thought of doing that? Well, when I was about half way through the grille, MCG announced their resin Beaumont conversion, complete with photoetch scripts, which took the wind out of that sail. So I put it away, and never thought about it again until I ran across it a few weeks ago. By then, MCG no longer offered their resin version, and the one that I'd seen looked pretty far off anyway - like someone stuck some GTO grilles in there and called it good, so I figured that now would be a good time to finish it. It's two pieces, the grille and the header panel. Cut the stock header out and replace it with the modified panel. I'd like to do the taillights, but I need further input on that. I can do the lenses, but that would require the builder to do cutting, filling, and bodywork to the 1/4 extensions on the kit body. Now most of us here can do that, but not everyone, so not sure how to go about that. I like Steve's idea of a whole new 1/4 extension, that may be a possibility. Doing the whole body is not really an option, we would do a hardtop, then people would want the convertible, and it would of course be a lot more expensive than just the conversion - so I'm going to concentrate on the grille and later on, the taillights.
  3. Putting the finishing touches on this master, should be ready soon. You thought we were just working on police cars?
  4. Very nice, interesting choice of hub caps.
  5. Greg Wann makes the early Maverick bumper/grille:
  6. Wrong spot or not, wow!
  7. More test fitting - lenses this time. These are test lenses in opaque resin, all lenses in the kits will be in clear resin. The bottom part of the taillight on the 1:1 is the backup light, so do the top portion in Tamiya or equivalent clear red, front turn signals are amber on '88-'89, clear on '90-'91. First round clear lens test shot, a little milky but putting the resin in the vacuum chamber pulled the air and moisture out of it, and the production lenses will be more clear. (Clearer?) And here's the very first part that I made from start to finish, a '67 Galaxie hood to replace a missing hood on a kit. I did the clay-up, mold making, and resin pouring all under the supervision of the Master Caster, with quite good results.
  8. Shouldn't be too hard, various sizes of Evergreen styrene for the main cris-cross and the four rectangular surrounds, I may have something for the louvers; I'll check tomorrow.
  9. Very nice conversion work. I've turned that kit down a number of times because I couldn't figure out anything to do with it. Are you going to scratch build the grille?
  10. Amazing job, and probably the only time I've ever seen this kit built. Maybe everyone else just gave up?
  11. That looks very nice, and the color looks much closer to the factory shade.
  12. I saw some color-shifting colors getting stocked.
  13. He's local. The cars are bigger than 1/2 scale, closer to 3/4.
  14. I was just at a local HL. Three employees were remodeling the model aisle, new paint chip strips in the Testors case for new colors coming, and one employee showed me their stock arrangement sheet; a page with color thumbnail pics of all the coming kits and where they go on the shelves. Included were all the Revell kits - the Baja Bronco, Foose FD100, '70 Charger, Big Game country/High Roller GMC, basically all the kits that are blowing up on eBay. Don't be impetuous, just wait for them to come back in stock. Let the online crowd pay way too much, they seem to like that.
  15. Minus eBay's 20% fees, or $11, your actual profit was $26.
  16. Update: All molds are made, some had to be re-made because there were strange air bubble problems in the resin castings. It's a weird thing, what works well on some parts will fight you tooth and nail on other, very similar parts. The only thing to do is try molding in a different way that splits the part in a different configuration in the silicone. If that makes any sense. Molds in process: Some finished castings: Test fitting of parts to body: Lots of great progress made in the last few weeks, shouldn't be much longer. Thanks to everyone for your patience.
  17. 18. The '59 Ford car-based stepside pickup might be the basis for an idea. Same basic theme... '70s style street machine...
  19. Very nice job on a kit not known to play nice, and the spoon flare idea is quite inventive.
  20. Got a '76 Torino and a 914/6 at HL at Greenfield and the 60. They still have a few 914s and a snap 2017 Mustang.
  21. Very cool, not many small parts left! I am almost done with the '88-'89 steering wheel and column mods.
