  1. Outstanding in all areas, superior. The only other thing I would expect to see on a truck like that would be the company name on the doors, in a nice '70s tow truck font, possibly with license/GVWR numbers on the rear doors.
  2. That break's not too bad, an easy fix. The body caused a good stir among the builders who saw it today. As an added bit of Master Caster theater, Greg de-molded body #1 in front of everyone for the first time, not knowing what it looked like anymore than anyone else did. It looked fine. Was there any question?
  3. I think it'll be OK, but some cracking around delicate pillar joints is average.
  4. Wow. If you twist that key, I wouldn't be surprised if the engine cranks.
  5. EFI 5.0/AOD into that chassis - now where have I seen that before?
  6. You know, for a guy who has often said that he doesn't like customs, you sure do build them well. They are fun, and they do have their place, no?
  7. Super nice resto, and your higher rear ride height with larger rear tires that stick out just a bit further than those on the real car do wonders for the stance. I always thought that the 1:1 looked a bit too much like a tail dragger with those radiused rear wheel wells and stock fronts, but yours brings it all together and makes it work. A++.
  8. Big improvement, low is cool but stock height works very well on a car like that.
  9. Dwayne, It's vacuformed, as are all the Master Caster glass sets. WAY more clear than clear resin. I use a professional dental vacuform machine that was designed to do impression or bleaching trays, and .020 PET-G plastic, same stuff used for water/soda bottles. I buy a 4' x 6' sheet of the stuff at a time.
  10. Very cool!
  11. Greg came by last night with the glass buck. I dressed it up a bit and pulled down glass set #1. Cut them out and test fit to the master, perfect fit, front and rear. I also added a REMOVE bar for casting purposes. This keeps the sides of the car from spreading under pressure. And with that, Greg took the master home to start letting the clay fly. Officer Baker - there may be a body ready for the DSC, we'll just have to see. Cutting it close, though.
  12. Way cool! Great lines and proportions, stance on point too.
  13. Greg and I were looking at tires under the body last week. The Lindberg Crown Vic tires are obviously too narrow, but they are also too small in diameter, at 27mm. We tried a variety of parts box tires to get the look we were after, and decided that a 28mm tire was just right for the size of the car and the large wheel wells. With that decided, Greg texted Joseph right there and the Eagle was rolling. These tires are made specifically for this car; fit to the Lindberg or Modelhaus wheel, which scales to 14" instead of 15", so the tire will probably wind up being a 70 or 75 aspect ratio. It's kind of fun in that it's the first time that 3D modeling and printing is being used on a Master Caster project.
  14. I built one when it was a brand new kit. Painted it Testors Burgundy purple with the factory black accents, box stock. It was a nice kit, great proportions as I recall.
  15. Loop 202, approaching Phoenix - '69 Road Runner post car, lunched pretty good on the left. Front axle moved back 6-8 inches, rear wheel sheared off leaving broken studs. Dark metallic blue, Radir Tri-Rib on the front.
  16. De nada, seƱor Larriviere. Just trying to maintain the same level of quality that is present in the other parts. You'll see another body soon. And another. And another.
  17. 1956 Eldorado, Paradise Valley, AZ. Cars like this are not a rare sight in these parts.
  18. Got the grille today Dwayne. Thankya, thankyavurruhmuch. Dwayne sent along a nice, typed instruction sheet with illustrations that told of where slight modifications may need to be made to have the new grille fit the header panel. But... It fit perfectly anyway. The windshield master is done, rear window as well. The new hood is pretty much finalized... And the whole works is getting along quite nicely. Just a little bit of fussing here and there, some spot priming, and some micro-sanding and my work here is done. Give it about another week Greg, then it'll be ready for pickup and some Masterful Casting.
  19. I haven't been to a TRU in years. Seems a very common claim.
  20. Wow, the paint finish and detailing on that A12 is amazing, and it doesn't have far to go.
