  1. I've seen this van before, but I can't remember where. I like it!
  2. I have more lenses than I can ever use, but what do you use for the reflector behind the lens?
  3. I enjoy "parking lot" models, vehicles of the workaday world. Well done, I like it!
  4. I am amazed at how polarizing this "rivet counter" thing has become. I find nothing wrong with people enjoying kits even if they're not perfect, and I find nothing wrong with people pointing out inaccuracies. Is there a belief out there that one of these positions is "right", and the other "wrong"? What's up with this?
  5. I'm building one of these myself. I want to give a heads up on certain things. The front and rear bumpers were meant to hang on a little ledge on the body. Due to molding and plating needs, the bumpers will not fit the ledge properly. It's probably easiest to sand off the ledge and glue them directly. Hog out the taillight holes a bit for an easier fit. Remove some material on the inside of the body around the window areas for a better glass fit. Remove some material from the back of the grille toward the bottom, or the grille will want to point up a bit instead of straight forward. These are all little things that are easy to do if you do them before painting. I did not test fit before painting and paid the price. Now that I have the issues resolved, I'm real happy with what I've got so far. I'm at work right now, so no pics. Thanks Kevin, and thanks guys for all the support and compliments. -Tom
  6. I only use cans, I don't own an airbrush. This van is Duplicolor out of the can. This truck is cheapie Wal Mart enamel spray. This pickup is model spray paint. This is an old build. Today I would clear it.
  7. Might as well weigh in. As has been stated millions of times before, there is no perfect model. Sometimes the errors bother me, sometimes they don't. Speaking only for myself, the chopped top kills it for me. I wouldn't mind at all sanding off and moving the keyhole, but the top is just too much. But if you think this is bad... Look at a '74 or '75 JoHan Cutlass front end and compare it to the real thing. The shape of the front end changed after '73, and JoHan just squished '74 or '75 grilles into the wrong front end. The Mustang is better than that!
  8. I bought one of the '76 Cadillacs and had the chrome flake off the front bumper. Also, the interior is for an ElDorado, and not a Coupe DeVille. However, out of all the parts and kits I've purchased from them, that's all I've got in the way of a "complaint". The Modelhaus sets a very high standard for resin casting. I like them and I like Don. I promised Don I was going to get a Dodge pickup from him, and I still intend to honor that promise. For me, the Modelhaus '76 Coupe DeVille, and Missing Link's 1978 LTD are my favorites. As nice as these are, my AAM (long gone) Olds Delta 88 is my most treasured resin kit. Bottom line: Modelhaus is a top shelf operation. If it were possible, I, too would like to have pictures on their site. I guess if they were going to do it, it would be done by now.
  9. I never noticed how odd the door shape was. Still a beautiful truck, but the next generation had a nicer cab door outline. I can't wait to build some of these...
  10. I'm also glad to see this moving forward. I've really enjoyed this so far, and I'm sure I will continue to do so as it progresses.
  11. Whatever I may be working on gets shoved aside when this model comes out. Simple as that.
  12. My favorite truck kit of all time is still the Ertl CO-4070A. I started a day cab version for a Yellow Freight truck, but never finished it...yet. I also have an Eastern White 4000 to finish. I didn't know there were conversion kits, so I scratchbuilt the grille and hood/fender unit.
  13. I'm also looking forward to the El Camino variant of this kit. Gotta have that one, too!
  14. You did a great job with this one, Kevin. I'm looking forward to putting a few together! If you sold those sport mirrors separately I'd buy a bag full! There are so many 70s GM cars that used them. I have many Camaro and Firebird models that could use them. I think most of the mirrors done in other kits look undersized. To my eye, the '77 Monte Carlo mirrors (the master for these) are the best looking representation of the GM sport mirror yet. Just my opinion.
  15. I meant vertical rows, not horizontal ones. Your link does a good job of showing exactly what I meant about the '69 grille.
  16. I know this is all pre-production, but the 1969 grille should have all the openings the same width, not narrower outside than toward the center. I will be purchasing many of these kits, I already have my Moebius fund started.
  17. If there is any way I can help you make the Fishbowl happen, let me know. I have quite a bit of reference material.
  18. Very cool. I'm in for one of these. Looks great!
  19. This is quite true. Any google pic will illustrate this.
  20. If I were to post in progress pictures of a 1/16 scale Freightliner build, would it be here or the Big Boyz category?
  21. Yes, those are the two kits I used. The Bronco supplies hood, front end, wheel well openings, most of the interior, and taillights. This is a model of an actual truck that was destroyed by a fire started by a cigarette in the cab. Too bad, it was a nice truck.
