I'm also glad to see this moving forward. I've really enjoyed this so far, and I'm sure I will continue to do so as it progresses.

Whatever I may be working on gets shoved aside when this model comes out. Simple as that.

My favorite truck kit of all time is still the Ertl CO-4070A. I started a day cab version for a Yellow Freight truck, but never finished it...yet. I also have an Eastern White 4000 to finish. I didn't know there were conversion kits, so I scratchbuilt the grille and hood/fender unit.

I'm also looking forward to the El Camino variant of this kit. Gotta have that one, too!

You did a great job with this one, Kevin. I'm looking forward to putting a few together! If you sold those sport mirrors separately I'd buy a bag full! There are so many 70s GM cars that used them. I have many Camaro and Firebird models that could use them. I think most of the mirrors done in other kits look undersized. To my eye, the '77 Monte Carlo mirrors (the master for these) are the best looking representation of the GM sport mirror yet. Just my opinion.

I meant vertical rows, not horizontal ones. Your link does a good job of showing exactly what I meant about the '69 grille.

I know this is all pre-production, but the 1969 grille should have all the openings the same width, not narrower outside than toward the center. I will be purchasing many of these kits, I already have my Moebius fund started.

Yes, those are the two kits I used. The Bronco supplies hood, front end, wheel well openings, most of the interior, and taillights. This is a model of an actual truck that was destroyed by a fire started by a cigarette in the cab. Too bad, it was a nice truck.

I'll be there! I got my best friend hooked last year, and he's coming too. I really enjoy this show. I'll have to see if I finished anything since the last show. If I have, I'll bring it.

I understand at one time the intake was offered in photoetch, but I've never seen them. I scratchbuilt mine, you can see no two are exactly alike.

It's really a neat model. I have quite a few. What is often overlooked by modelers is the little grille right behind the door. It's supposed to be there, but there's no hint of it on the model except the spot where it should be. Here's examples of my efforts to add this detail.

Of all my awards, this Best of Show from a large IPMS show means the most to me. It's hard to win in a mostly military environment. Some of the military models in that show were incredible!
