  1. Looks good. I started one back in the 70s and never got the body/engine placement figured out. I still have, maybe I can dig it out and take a few pics.
  2. Joe old pal, the pics aren't showing
  3. ToyLvr, could you post pics of the rest of the Topless Pickup instructions, please?
  4. The '65 is based on the Compact Falcon body and the '67 is based on the midsize Fairlane.
  5. Wayne, thanks for answering. I remember that we had a great time that day. And Time does fly!
  6. Is that when I was there with you? That was a great day!
  7. what is the diameter of the wheels and tires? I may need one of these for a project.
  8. Very nice work. Perhaps something could be done where the lower front fender meets the nose. It looks rather abrupt - how about rolling it into the front pan? maybe a filler piece...
  9. There was a model of a Jet powered truck by AMT - I never got one so I don't recall the name. Yeah oldcarfan and snake, exhibition cars were not real racers and kind of a waste of time. So were the Hurst Girls (especially Linda), Drift Cars and Ken Block videos. But they DO have their fans! Tongue firmly planted in Cheek, Hee Hee.
  10. What part of NorCal? I'm in Modesto.
  11. Beautiful work so far, and lots of nice tips. I hate to sound like a party pooper, but note that the Trans Am series began in 1966, so the Falcon is technically an A Sedan (the A on the pic of the blue car). Therefore it was raced by an amateur for two years prior to the TA series starting. Perhaps it should have some "battle damage" such as minor dents and scrapes. plus it would probably be dirty in the wheel wells and underneath and may have been repainted a time or two. There were a lot of amateurs filling out the TA fields because they could actually earn some cash (the TA and Can Am were the first SCCA Professional series). Falcons, Darts, Valiants, and even Corvairs were raced by low budget racers.
  12. I'm already waiting for you guys. Bibeau and Pryor are both in rare form
  13. There have been two Indy car races this year. Honda powered cars won both, so his chances are good. This also shows that he and the team have given up on this year in F1.
  14. Ron Hamilton...could you please show your corrections to the Torino body?
  15. Thanks Brett. You knew more than me!
  16. The current cars are ugly, but they are very fast, adaptable to various conditions, and (most of all) much safer. The "pretty" roadsters and uprights were in the days of "go to the funeral, fix the car, and put another driver in it for the next race" - it was common for 3 to 5 drivers to die each season. If the rear wheel spats had been on a season earlier, chances are Dan Wheldon would still be alive and the car wouldn't be called the DW12. Also, the 1972 McLaren was the M16B. The M24B wasn't run until '77 or'78.
  17. What parts have been restored to the 57 Ford? I don't see the Styleline nose or tail.
  18. I have my hotel room, and my wife is coming for the first time.
  19. I asked aout the suburban at my hobby shop last week. The Hobbico Distributor site says June.
  20. Hello old friend!
  21. I second everyone's comments. Never had anything but good experiences.
  22. How about LA Dart having the same wheelbase as the 67-69 Hemi Under Glass? Or the chassis of the 66 HUG resembling the 65 Plymouth Dealers car?
  23. It will be interesting to see how well the 2017 car development will go without Nico's intelligent, analytical input. Gotta respect a man that puts Family before Sport. Best wishes, Nico!
