Look forward to following this build, have always liked Pontiac vehicles.

There is a section here on the Forum called Tips, Tricks, Tutorials. Several builders have posted how they go about using Bare Metal Foil. After reading what they have posted try experimenting with different techniques applying the foil on a spare body. See what works for you when you're foiling. With some practice you will soon find what works best for you. The main thing is you will see what others have done and how they have overcome similar problems.

Paint Question on AMT 63 Vette

Was the primer coat sanded before the color coat? This is just what it looks like to me. -
Paint Question on AMT 63 Vette
espo replied to Len Woodruff's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Looks like surface scratches on the body under the paint. Think about any- body prep prior to the color coat of paint. -
Great looking engine details. The color and paint finish look nice and smooth.
-
Beautiful paint work and engine detailing.
-
Great looking color and finish. Like the interior detailing and the engine.

I like the color combination better than the red car. A lot of sparkle in the paint but it is nice and smooth looking.
-
Great looking reproduction of the old TV vehicle so central to the show.

I have a subscription to both Ol' Skool Rodz and Car Kulture DeLuxe magazines. Murpho bought out these two magazines a few years ago when they were failing. They did prop them up as far as content and coverage, but with all the writers, photographers and travels between car shows it is a shame that they didn't make it whether you liked the subjects or not.

What did you see on the road today?

How many plies are they? Might make some great sand tires for a dune buggy. -

What a great gift to give. Like the color. Any additional pictures? -
Like the stance and the drive train. That engine looks like it belongs there. That shade of blue along with the white stripes looks great together.
-
Great looking Camaro. The red body and interior look good together. The optional folding bench seat was not very common along with the RS grill and trim adding some uniqueness to this build. The lower nose stripe decals look like they may have been swapped side to side.

Great looking color and paint finish. Like the wheels and the engine details.

Great looking camo paint work and the utility bed look perfect. -
Great looking paint finish. What color and product line did you use?

Now that's funny!!

Alway enjoy your honest telling of how you really feal about a kit. I still like how it looks. The basic P.O. decals do look good here. The styled wheel option is for building a model of the Post Master's ride.

I'm a personal fan of El Caminos. Nice color combination with the body and the interior. Did the shell and the bed cover come in the kit? The reason I ask is the bed cover looks like it rides a little high. I don't know if you pined the side view mirrors, but from their position it looks like they may have shifted on you when the glue was drying. Like the stance and the wheel and tires selection looks great. Nice job with the imitation wood steering wheel.

AMT 1961 Ford Galaxie hardtop, any news?
espo replied to PintoKING's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Good point on the rear window shape. From the pictures it looks like the roof it's self would fit with a homemade rear window. The rear window from the '60 AMT Ford may work with some sanding along the bottom to make it flat. Might depend on how brave you are at that sort of thing. -
AMT 1961 Ford Galaxie hardtop, any news?
espo replied to PintoKING's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My thought was that since they are from the same, AMT, company and supposed to be the same scale they would fit. I'm sure there would be some adjustments. I did a roof swap between the hardtop from the old '57 Ford AMT kit and the much newer Revell '57 Ford two door sedan to make a low line '57 Ford hardtop. While the width wasn't thew problem so much as the hardtop having a flatter crown in the roof than the sedan, but it worked out. -
With the black interior, which is sort of the only color out there, they do stand out. I own an '18 Charger GT with the black leather interior, of course. The interior appears the same as the kit, so if you need any detail pictures of the interior let me know.
