  1. Congratulations on all the well-deserved trophies.
  2. Great looking paint and the graphics from the Galaxie blend well. Nice painting details on the chassis and interior.
  3. Like the tail panel. You mentioned exhaust. The picture it looks as if you just need a couple of short extensions. Try some aluminum tubing cut to length and they can be polished to look like chrome, or painted black depending on what look you're going for.
  4. Besides the beautiful paint and color, I like how you did all the lights and engine function. So cleanly detailed.
  5. Watching the Kansas City Chiefs parade on TV today.
  6. Didn't realize that. We had a Lab years ago and he would munch on the things but not eating them. He would untie the knots on the end and then lose interest in them. Sure beat having him chew on the legs of all the furniture in the house.
  7. Both great looking builds especially considering his age.
  8. Great looking GTO. Did you have to remove the roof or was the convertible an option in the kit?
  9. Great looking finish and I like the color.
  10. Been there, had to do that. The bad part is when you get back on your feet, trying to replace these Bikes will cost more than what you sold them for. Hope life turns around for you soon.
  11. You guys look far to organized. While I'm not as bad, I'm only working on one at a time since it's too hard to keep the parts separated and stay focused otherwise. I think it has to do with waiting for glue or paint to dry.
  12. Thanks, this is what I was think of. These were "cutting edge" when they came out in the last century.
  13. Hard to tell just what diameter these wheels are in the picture. I wouldn't rule out even 17' diameter reproduction wheels. From the side view all of the open wheel well showing makes me think maybe an even lower profile tire as well. As for the original Gulstrand Corvettes I'm pretty sure they would have been a 15" diameter wheel since that was sort of the standard of the time. I don't recall ever seeing a 14" wheel option on any Corvettes since they all had larger diameter brake drums or discs depending on the application. See these reproduction Corvettes pop up at Mecum auctions often.
  14. Great looking Pup. Sounds like he's like the rest of us, a little this and that along with a fence jumper somewhere in the past thrown in. Need to start buying rawhide chew sticks in bulk.
  15. So sorry to hear that your condition is getting worse. Know that there are many here that respect you and hold you in high regard. Keep your faith as sometimes that's all that works it would seem.
  16. Like the paint finish with the red wheels. The blanket interior is fitting.
  17. Like the paint color and finish. I recall a friend who had a '65 El Camino that had a color very much like this and Chevrolet offered it for several years. Great looking trim and engine detailing. Being winter and I'm sure living where you do and using furnace a bit the humidity may be low in your home. Do you have a home humidifier on your furnace? I know if the humidity gets low here, I have much the same issue. Walk around in your socks on the carpet and then touch a metal object or even a light switch. When the static electricity shocks you a little usually raising the interior humidity will stop this. Also, if you just polished the model like an Alden's lamp that can create static electricity as well.
  18. A thought on opening your paint bottle. I have had similar issues with paint bottles and found placing them in warm water upside down so the screw on cap is submerged. The warm water will sometimes soften the paint residue between the bottle and the cap. I used to use the edge of the bottle to wipe off the excess paint from my paint brush and have found that even a small bit of paint on the edge of the bottle or the cap will act like glue when they dry.
  19. The main problem with this kit is the suspension and chassis is just wrong. But at least the general shape of the body is there.
  20. Like the paint effects on the body.
  21. Enjoyed following this build. Great looking paint finishes and like how you detailed the engine fuel and wires, the paint finishes add a lot to the appearance.
  22. If you need a "40 AMT Hood let me know. I just checked one of my old parts boxes and have one. Its painted maroon with the flame decals, from the original issue.
  23. Had almost forgotten about this build. Glad to see you're able to get back to it.
  24. Major body surgery.
  25. I like the city skyline on the sides of the body, almost a shame to cover it up with the logo. Great looking paint design.
