Great looking Cobra despite your paint issues. The black trim and wheels give it a more contemporary look. I would put it at the front of my display case.

truck, boat, and trailer
espo replied to Paul Payne's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The Boat and the Car are both beautifully done. The attention to detail is amazing. Look forward to seeing the Trailer. -
Revell 29 closed cab pickup

Interested in the body mods you mentioned on the bed. What all are you doing there? I noticed on the picture of your tan build the area between the top of the windshield and the roof seems larger than what I would think that area would be? -
56 Ford Truck Pro Street

Sort of hate that you had to stripe this one to redo it, always thought it was a neat build. Look forward to whatever you're building out of it. -
I know what you mean. Same thing seems to happen every year.

Empi-Style Dual Carb for VW Bug?
espo replied to Calb56's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I understand that. You mentioned wanting info on other systems and since this one was from Impi, who was a major supplier at the time. I thought this may give you some food for thought. The shape of the stinger you showed looks exactly the same as their system. Many of us would drive to the dunes or beach and could remove the small muffler and install the stinger in minutes. Slick system just didn't know if that would even be a feature to consider for your future product. -
Great looking paint work and like the color/interior combination.

Empi-Style Dual Carb for VW Bug?

Like the exhaust system. You mentioned ideas so I'll share what I had years ago. I think it was a system Impi offered at the time. Where the pipes come together, they formed a small collector with the option of bolting on a Stinger like your design or a small Muffler that would make the Baja Street legal. Hard to see much detail from one of the few pictures I have from that time, b ut maybe it will give you an idea that may or not be usable. -
The replica of your sons Mustang looks great. Like the wheels and color on the blue Mustang. You should be proud of both builds.

Great looking chopped top, most say that the '39/'40 3 window is a hard one to chop and not lose the proportions of the top.
-
Great looking color combination and finish. Enjoyed watching the interior come together along with the engine. The engine detailing looks very convincing.

Your picture of the Black Camaro and the trim you are adding represent the most common trim style, and what was on my Camaro as well. I think what AMT may have had in mind was one of the upper levels "Custom Trim" options that they offered. The wider trim around the bottom edge of the side windows was part of the trim upgrade. I think the basic trim looks a lot cleaner on the Camaro.

Like how you did the plug wires and the "Crab" distributer. Now I know how to make that look correct.

Enjoying your build. My question is the Alt./Gen. position. May have to move the pully in just a little toward the Blower pully if you're thinking about running the Hood sides.
-
I think it is a great idea and adds a new dimension to the display.

I'm sure you read the story behind this build. I remember this from the TV series where they covered the build. I'm with you about the paint finish. Spend all that money and have it look like this doesn't make sense to me either, but many prefer the look, and it is his money after all.

Question about drag cars from the 60's
espo replied to PHPaul's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You might be able to look at the NHRA rule book posted here on the Forum under the Drag Racing portion. You may find that Drag Racing in a designated class would not have a "dial in" as that comes from a different style of computation. Depending on what all you are doing with your build your model might even land in a Gas Class. Looking at the rule book should give you a better idea on your build. -
Sort of an '80's thing. My wife went to one of those beauty/ makeup / photo things that was advertised in the local newspaper at the time. Came home with something a little tamer. Lasted a couple of weeks and it was over. I think she got tired of my "did you stick your finger in the light socket?" jokes.

Wind chill around 2 digress, colder than sourer owl droppings. Come on spring!

Beautiful looking paint and trim. Alway enjoyable to build important cars from your past and you can look at this one and remember your Grand Father.

The paint work is really outstanding and is what you notice first. Even the correct, and often cussed at, Holly 4-barrel carbs. We used to call them "the towering infernos" since they were prone to leaking and even catching fire. Great looking chassis detailing.

RIVIERA ROYALE: a heavily customized coachbuilt 1966 Buick Riviera
espo replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Major plastic surgery so smoothly done you wouldn't know that that isn't the way Buick designed it. Like the way the open roof shows the interior that is also done so well. Takes a while to look at all the details on the interior, but the more you look the more you see. The chassis and looks great compared to what this kit provides in that area.
