Welcome back, missed seeing your builds lately. Like your ideas on what could or should be done as far as the trim on this. Great looking color combination.

Beautiful paint and engine detailing. The interior looks great.

Finally finished the doodlebug

Great looking build. Just the basic running gear and a place to sit. A friend of mine, when we were in high school built on with his father. We didn't even have seat belts, but we lived to tell about it. -

Good afternoon Bob. I did some frame and suspension surgery to get the lowered ride height I wanted. Starting in the front. I cut the kits coil springs along with thinning the frame cross member and the part that has the lower control arms attached. The spindles were shortened and the mounting pins for the tires are in the highest setting holes. This allowed me to push the lower control arms higher so that the front sits as low as it will go and still have the engine oil pan as well as the lower control arms not touch the ground. For the rear suspension I cut the kits coil springs and drilled out the upper shock mounting point so that the shocks went up into the frame plate. I raised the differential to the point that the drive shaft just clears the bed floor. Hope this helps with your build. -

Like all the added sound equipment and other interior details. -
Great looking paint finish and color. The mild custom touches to the body look good.
-
I agree on the color, has a nice period look and the white interior looks good with it. Clean chrome trim and a nice stance.
-
Great looking paint work and the contrasting interior looks good.

Enjoyed watching this come together. Interesting how much effort goes into a finish like this compared to a shiny build sometime. Hard to tell the model from the picture with the same settings.

Beautiful looking Impala. The pictures look like a sales brochure from 1964. Great paint and trim and the colors all look good together. I agree with you on the 1966-year model Impala. I had a new '66 Impala SS with a 396 and 4-speed. Loved everything about it but the cost of insurance.

Great looking patina on the paint. I like looking at the little touches you added. Don't ever recall seeing the headliner hat rack done before, but its little things like this that add so much to the overall look.

Beautiful looking paint and trim finishes. The interior is also great. Like the engine details. Had a '69 Camaro for 9 years. Was not a Z car, but it still almost cost me my license anyway. Hugger Orange with Black interior and spoilers. To easily spotted by the local PD as well as the CHP.

Like the wheels. -
I agree with everyone else on the paint work. I like the almost OEM color but with some metallic to make it really stand out. This is a great kit, and the stance here looks good.
-
Nice interior. Ya, I thought the black car might be this build. Great looking paint job and chrome trim there.
-
The engine and basic interior look great already. Don't know if the rear tires in your picture are what you're going to use, but I like the tread pattern.
-
Looks like a pair of nice Aluminum Heads on the chrome tree. Not that it matters but I noticed the upper coolant hose mounts on the Heads are on the front much like a '49 or newer Flathead. Those wheels and tires would look good.

The chrome foil looks great.

What's the best chrome?
espo replied to Sidney Schwartz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
For myself I'm most comfortable with BMF and I have found the Gundam Marker EX has a great liquid chrome for fine details. The main thing is to try several different ways of doing the chrome trim and see what you are most comfortable with. I have seen some spray-painted chrome trim that does look amazing. Just experiment till you find what you like. -
What did you see on the road today?

Every part of the county seems to have a different mix of brands and types of vehicles that are being used. Sounds like the Tesla is popular in your area. While some have been sold around here, they are more of a Unicorn type sighting. I was in the mentioned area just this morning doing other things and I had to pass the rental lot. Same cars just a little dustier since we had a little weather a couple of days ago. I'm sure there must be a financial reason, but these cars all have Missouri license plates and I'm in Kansas. -
All kidding aside, the letter F and the letter G are right next to each other on the same line on your keypad. Noy as hard to hit one or both as you may think. Notice the same can be said for the letter T and the letter Y, as you can see when I started this sentence.

Looks great and I like the Paddle tires.

Great looking custom. Like the engine detailing and the interior.
