AMT 1970 Impala, Using '67 Supernatural Chassis
espo replied to doorsovdoon's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Since they both represent the same basic engine, besides the internal cubic inch displacement, the only real difference between them would be the transmission. You might consider cutting the automatic transmission from the "454" engine and switching it with the manual transmission on the "427" engine. -
Great looking match up.

I drive a '19 Charger GT in white with the black painted grill. Whenever I drive on the freeway people still seem reluctant to pass me at first until they notice the trunk spoiler and the standard license plates. Same times when I overtake someone on the HI way, I have had them slow down as I go by until they realize it's just some old guy driving a white Charger and not the KHP or the Shariff. I have even had a couple of local PD wave to me when we approach head on the surface streets. There is a locale KHP car that is painted silver with a blue roof and trunk lid. Not sure what that's about as most of the cars are white with a real small shield on the door and a slick roof. The only really noticeable feature is the Cow Catcher on the front end. They all look like they want someone to run for it so they can "Pit" them. I got a call from the model shop I go too and I'm going by tomorrow to pick up my kit.

So many of the well-known artist sang his music and Hal David was often his Lyricist. Dionne Warwick had many top 40 songs of his. Performers like Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones all sang his hits. "Walk on by" was one of my favorites and was done by Dionne Warwick as well as Isaac Hays. There are many other name artists as well. "Rain drops keep falling on my head" when I heard.

1929 Ford Fenderless RPU (kit bash)
espo replied to Flatout's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great clean looking build. Like the flat paint finish with no overdone chrome on the engine. Looks like something someone could build on a budget but still looks great. -
Amazing how well the figures seem to go with the models. The Dodge pickup, is that George Carlin? The guy with the blue Chevy convertible looks like an old Zoot Suit from pre-world War 2.
-
Great looking finishes and looks better than the box art.
-
Great looking build and you would never know all the issues you mentioned. I may still have my halfhearted attempt at building one of these long ago. I think I put it back in the box for all the reasons you mentioned.

Do the Limbo-Rod..."how low can you go?" From the vault #8 ....

Always enjoy seeing some of your past builds. They still give inspiration to build one of these as well. -
Great looking Camaro. Like your attention to the mechanical details to represent a base line Camaro.

Revell 1956 Ford Thunderbird 1/24 Scale in Pearl Magenta.

Beautifully detailed build and the paint finish and color look very close to the box art. -
Really smooth looking paint.

Great looking interior. You mention that there weren't any arm rests on the door panels in this kit. The kit interior represents a custom interior package. The arm rests, such as they are, were a small ridge running the length of the door with a small area that would also be used as a door pull to close the door. The second row of chrome trim you added is running along the top edge just to give you an idea of its location on the door. The gauges you added to the consol look just like what Chevrolet had as an option.

Some younger music lovers may not know of this writer of so many popular songs and movie themes. His music has been performed by many artists. I suggest Googling him to get a full range of his work.

1960’s Traditional Blown ‘23 T Bucket UPDATE 10/31/22
espo replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
While I didn't have a problem myself, I agree with you on it being better to be safe than sorry should something happen with the paint. -
Wonder if this is covered by MediCare? When you get old enough nothing seems to work right anymore.

Like this body design, especially the big rear window. -
You did that.

Looking at how this turned out you would never realize the issues you mention for this kit. Great looking paint and decals.
-
Very realistic looking parts colors and cleanly built.
-
Great job capturing the crusty look that so many of these cars have. The details like the Upgraded Wheels add to the appearance.
-
Remember very little from the movie except this car. The color looks just as I remember it and the side stripe looks good.
-
Great looking color combination and I like the '60's wheels. Clean building techniques like this offset the basic kits short comings.
-
Beautiful looking paint finish and interior. To build a model to this standard, especially this model, takes time and have enjoyed watching how you did the hinges and jams on this.

Thank you for your concerns, Ron. I had one eye done just before Christmas and the other after New Years. I'm so blessed with the way it turned out. I now have 20/20 vision and my stigmatism has been corrected as well. I went for the mid-range option of the three lenses offered. This leaves me only needing to wear glasses for reading and at the computer or detail work on model building. The next up option now is like having a lens like I used to wear only built into the new lens. The operation itself was painless, which is good since I'm a baby about those things. Just a couple of weeks with eye drops to promote healing and provide "water" for your eye. I had to wear an eye patch at night to prevent any rubbing in my sleep. Better plan on buying some dark glasses since everything is so much brighter now. Absolutely recommend anyone who needs this type of operation to do it. The advancements made in this type of surgery has advanced tremendously even in just the last year.
