  1. A lot of good information and suggestions. The only thing that I think might be of additional help would be consider using an automotive type etching primer to seal the resin body before going any further with your painting process. This suggestion is based on my own personal experiences and there is always the possibility that your results may be different.
  2. Great looking "wood" finishes.
  3. Beautiful paint finishes and colors.
  4. Really like your concept. May I share a little personal experience on say a '65 Pontiac Tempest? A friend and coworker who was getting engaged at the time, went to the local Pontiac dealership, and being young and even having a clean driving record the insurance on a new GTO put it out of the question. What he did was order a La Mans two door hardtop with the 326 ho and a 4-speed. There was a suspension option that brought larger sway bars including a rear bar and heavier valved shocks as well as the traction lock differential. He got the bucket seats and the reverb radio option. Sort of a GTO light and the insurance was affordable for he and his soon to be wife. Fun fact, his father later ordered a similar LaMans but with the 2bbl 326 and an auto trans. His younger brother bought a Tempest Custom two door post car with the regular 4 bbl. 326 and 4-speed. These options could also be done on the wagon like you're starting on. This setup was popular with others where we were living since many had the same insurance issues and insurance companies almost wouldn't insure a GTO or an SS or anything else with letters or numbers in its description.
  5. They may be mentally challenged as well.
  6. Great looking paint work. Very realistic looking finishes.
  7. Great paint color and scallops. The clean assembly everywhere you look is what catches my eye first. Glad you listed the sources of your modifications to the basic kit, gives sort of a road map.
  8. Beautiful paint color and of course the finish along with the painted stripes. Great looking engine detailing. Like the contrasting interior color and finish.
  9. How did you get all of your chrome work done? Engine looks great.
  10. Like the seat pattern decals.
  11. I'll second the El Camino idea. Look at my avatar, this is a model of the '67 El Camino I owned long ago. The Camino was a factory 396/350hp 4-speed with air and a bench seat. Drove it to over 100k and only replaced it with a new '74 C10 short step 2wd 454 because I fell in love with the new look.
  12. There are several sources of OEM paint colors mostly designed for use with an Air Brush. A couple of spray can options, Model Master #28132 is supposed to be a match for the original Ford Wimbeldon White. The problem is finding it now since Rust-Oleum has taken over the ownership. The other, and most easily found, would be Tamiya TS-26 Pure White.
  13. Great paint color and finish match. Trim and interior look to be like the original.
  14. Beautiful reproduction of your friend's pickup. I like how you recreated the hood trim.
  15. Great looking paint and body work. Like the engine and suspension setup.
  16. Great looking paint color you concocted along with the finish. The body stripping is all cleanly done. Like the engine detailing.
  17. Beautiful paint finish and like the "school bus yellow" color. Great looking engine and chassis detailing.
  18. I can see why they would want to feature this model. Besides the beautiful looking finishes this has a very realistic look to it.
  19. Great body design. Like the signage as well.
  20. Working for a Chevrolet dealership this was one of the safest colors to order for inventory since almost anyone would switch to this shade of blue if their desired color wasn't available.
  21. Like the Gasser style here. Clean looking body trim and paint. The engine is front and center as it should be.
