  1. Great looking conversion. Nice looking paint and finish.
  2. Really looks like an abandoned old car.
  3. This still looks like a fresh build.
  4. Great looking Ghia. Very clean chrome trim and the color is perfect of course.
  5. Looking good to this point. This is a great kit and you should enjoy it.
  6. This should be fun. My radio station when I lived in that area was "WIND the Windy City station" . The DJ was Dick Beyonda or something like that. He billed himself as the "Wild Italian" .
  7. I have to agree on that one and I also have built a few. While it is a fun quick build it's pretty basic as far as details, of course that leaves it up to the builder to fabricate everything and not everyone is into that much extra work. My point was to mention that nothing new has come along in a T for many years.
  8. I'm sure you realize that there is no way to get the tires under any stock fenders if they are even a consideration. My thought for the rear setup would be the quick change center with axle tubes just long enough for the leaf springs to mount before the backing plates for the rear brakes. You may want to figure out some sort of shock absorber and mountings.
  9. I really good alignment operator who actually understands how to align a car, or anything else for that matter, has to first understand the function of the different parts and how they effect each other in function. This is not learned in a one evening or weekend class. This requires basic understanding of the suspension and how it reacts when in motion. Maybe he has an APP for that.
  10. The end caps look almost like the 1:1's were from the factory since they usually didn't match all that well anyway. The Bumper gaps are a little wide but the main thing is to have the bumper not tilted up or down on the end otherwise it will draw the eye to it.
  11. I agree with you on almost every point. The biggest problem is that from the realization that there maybe a market for a curtain model to the planning, tooling, and promotion sometimes the interest has moved on to another subject by then. I'm working on a '48 Aerosedan now and I think these are great kits, but they sure are proud of the pricing on them. I know, you can count me as one of the Geezers but I have the Coupe and the Sedan Delivery yet to build.
  12. Beautiful looking pickup. Several different colors going on and really draws your eyes. I like how you shortened the bed and I think the wheel base as well ?
  13. You really captured the look of the movie car.
  14. Great looking color and finish. All of the extra trim possible and it all looks very cleanly done. Perfect wheels for the theme of your build.
  15. Very sleek looking with the sectioning of the body. You bended everything back together in way that you almost can't tell what was done. The headlights clean up the front fenders well.
  16. My compliments to the builder of this. The paint still looks fresh and I like the seat inserts. Still looks like a resent build.
  17. Great looking Showroom style build. I was one of those lucky enough to get a new '86 Monte Carlo SS and in the exact color combination you have here. In the first week I almost burned up a hair dryer removing all the stripes and words on the doors. Just had the Mont Carlo SS signage on the bottom of the trunk lid. I painted the bottom lip of the front to match the body color also. I painted the gray rough portion of the wheels with Duplicolor White to match the body. Showed it twice at the Super Chevy Magazine Show at Sears Point Raceway and got first in class in 1988 and 1990. I sold it in 2002 with 90k plus miles on it. The only repairs in that time was a rebuild on the Quadrajet, very common thing, and the U-Joints had to be replaced since GM didn't feel lubrication wasn't needed for them. That little 305 had a lot more power, for the time, than you might think.

Welcome to the forum Sherry. Very nice out of Box build.
  19. Looks great. Interesting exterior color combination with a smooth finish. Considering the "Bottom Plate" for lack of a better term for the chassis your detailing and painting adds a lot to its appearance. These old 3 in 1's were a treasure trove of extra parts.
  20. I agree with all the others, always thought this would be a good body to make a hauler out of. Very long back deck looks almost like an 8 foot long bed. Maybe make it a 6 foot short bed ?
  21. I think it would be a good bet that more than one model company keeps an eye on the trends from builders on this forum and several others. When a company wants to invest in new tooling to bring a kit to market they really can't afford to be wrong about the subject and even what the other companies are working on. I remember several years ago when AMT and Revell both released kits of the '67 Chevelle SS 396 in stock form. I don't know if Round 2 has the molds from AMT but I haven't seen them reissue the a stock Chevelle SS 396.
  22. I think Jon hit the nail on the head. I think any of us would like to build a T but for the most part the T kits date to the originals and while very nice at the time they leave a little to be desired next to the kits of later model vehicles issued since then. A new T kit with todays tooling might be more popular with buyers than what we had 20 years ago.
  23. Thank you for the tip. I have been using a thinned application of Tamiya Panel Line Accent in the past but I'll try this next time.
  24. I look forward to seeing what all you do with this. One thing I notice about this body is the height of the roof. I'm sure that has to do with the name, but it seems like it is taller than a stock one would be. Or that maybe the whole point.
  25. Great looking build and the paint reminds me of the Maroon color that they offered at that time. The Cragar wheels look good on this also.
