  1. I like the Tri-Power setup, was that in the kit ? The dash is going to look great when you're finished. Are you going to have a Consul or just the shifter on the floor ?
  2. I like the way you added to the hood to make everything line up. This is an area that often looks like it had been modified while yours flows like that is the way it had always been. You mentioned the top chop above the drip rails. This is an area that I have felt was never right in the first place, just seemed to tall. I also didn't realize the amount of taper in the cab sides until I saw your pictures and how you fixed that. So far this looks like a well thought out '50's style custom. Are you going to keep the Corvette tail lights in the Chevrolet fenders or do something else there ?
  3. I agree with you on the Glass Packs. Everyone now seems to like the Magnaflow or Flowmaster mufflers. Of the two I like the sound from the Flowmasters and have had them on several different cars but not on a Y Block. Up until the early '90's I would always use 26" to 30" Glass Packs on any car or truck when I changed the exhaust system. You mentioned this older Y Block with the very low oil pressure. It would almost be a shame to ruin the block and crank by running to long on low oil pressure. But then there is always that challenge to see just how long it will hang on. The 3x2 setup on the truck gave me very little problems after I went through the carbs. I used a mechanical linkage setup and It would run fine in normal driving on the center carb. After about half throttle the two end carbs would open and you could really feel the difference at wide open throttle.
  4. Nice to see that Jerry is prospering with his tour business. Very nicely finished stretch Lincoln.

    70 charger

Another beautifully detailed Charger. The white interior looks great against the dark blue finish.

    69 charger

Great paint finish and I like the way you detailed the engine.

I like the undercover COPO look.

    68 charger

The dark color is eye catching and I like the understated look with the basic wheels and tires.

    72 cutlass

great looking color and paint finish. I like how you can display your model with either top or boot.
  10. Glad to see you're getting a chance to work on this again. I like the colors for the interior. As I recall the seat inserts were a few shades darker and that really added to the appearance.
  11. I mentioned that I had owned several of these Ford powered cars. One that I enjoyed was an old retired pick-up that was used by a nursery service with the floor of the bed completely gone and just a blanket over the seat springs to sit on. The truck had a 292 engine from a passenger car and the three speed with overdrive transmission. I rebuilt the engine and found some "big valve" heads that were supposed to be only on the 312 engines. They were called the "D" heads based on the part number that was on the underside of the head. I added a 3x2 manifold and carbs that I bought used and rebuilt and found some old exhaust manifolds that were used on the F350 1 ton trucks. They looked like a set of the Chevrolet "Ram Horn" exhaust manifolds and were very free flowing. I did most of the body work and made a new bed floor it and had a local body shop paint it for me. There was also a local trim shop that did the interior. Had a lot of fun with it and sold it to buy a new '67 El Camino.
  12. You are correct. I have been in rehab most of my adult life for this addiction. The good side of this problem is it keeps me out of Bars at knight and my wife always knows where to find me.
  13. Great looking Mustang. I like how you used bits and parts from several different kits to make something unique.
  14. As everyone else has mentioned, the color is unusual and really stands out. I like the hub caps and narrow white walls.
  15. Beautiful looking build. Very cleanly detailed as seen in the close up pictures you toke outside.
  16. Again, glad your back on this build. I like the Nassau Blue and White color combo, my father had a '56 210 sedan with that same color combo. What wheels and tires are you going with ?
  17. You have it sitting really low, what all have you done on the suspension ? The wide whites look perfect with the painted wheels and the standard hub caps.
  18. Very interesting pictures Tulio. I looked closely at the Chevrolet pick-ups. The back half of the roof and the body sides remind me more of the styling Q's on Ford trucks. The windshield is definitely Chevrolet as is the Tail Lights. The Spare Tire mount in the bed is different from the North American trucks that usually mount them under the rear of the bed and use a crank to lower the spare when needed. Except for paint color the engine looks just like any other Chevrolet. The front grill looks exactly like a '60's Chevrolet but the grill surround and the head lights look unique. In past years I have owned several different Fords with the 234, 272, 292, and 312 engines and had good service from them al. I think the answer to any engine is maintenance. These engines had an engine oiling system that worked fine as long as the oil and filter was change on a regular basses. Unfortunately as these cars aged the owners would not keep up the maintenance and then blame the engine. I had two '57 Fords at different times, and drove them both as if I had stolen them and never had any engine problems.
  19. I'm going to enjoy watching your build. I like your pictures showing where the body parts are joined. You got the different body lines perfectly between the Nomad and the Corvette in the rear fenders and tail lights.
  20. It is no secret that the Koran imports have been building some quality products for some time now. With the American manufactures ending sedan production to putting "all of their eggs in one basket" to build trucks and SUV's they are handing the business to imports just like they did with the compact automobile years ago. It would seem to me as a consumer that they are making their last stand by betting on trucks and SUV's alone and they are handing everything else to everyone else. So as has happened before, gas takes a hike too say $3.50 to $4.00 a gallon what are they going to have to sell then ? History has a bad habit of repeating its self and I think the soo called American manufactures are painting themselves into a corner when it comes to product. This goes way beyond ugly looking trucks, this may prove to be a very poorly planned future.
  21. I hope they will also offer a stock Maverick also.
  22. I had no idea. Should they do another movie they know where to get a lot of extras with their own costumes and props.
  23. Perhaps the problem is not the business owner but the safety of the children. Is it not the parents responsibility to see that their child arrives at a safe location on the school grounds ?? My thought is if the School Board can't get the parents to deliver their children to the school in a safe manor and not disrupt a business then maybe someone should contact the authorities and children's services about the parents who are putting their children in danger by not delivering them to the school properly. I guess know one want to take responsibility of their child.
  24. I agree. If you want a vehicle optioned in a curtain manor you just have to have patience and realize it will take a couple of months to get what you want. As I said most people just settle for what ever is available and to many dealers seem to settle into a rut when it comes to ordering inventory.
  25. The engine looks good and the colors seem accurate to me.
