Very nice clean build. The extra details under the hood make all the difference in the world in the final look.

Looks great. I have to agree on the painted steel wheels. If not the baby moons then look for a set of the small caps from the 210 kit. Always a good looking cap for Chevys. Paint the wheels body color and the suggestion of trim rings would help set the wheels. Remember just a little lower in front and maybe a staggered tire size.

You might look at Revell's Datsun 240Z or their Datsun 510. They are both 4 lug type wheels. The 510 has chrome American style 4 spokes.

No need to strip the gloss black paint, just give it a dust coat of semi-gloss or even flat clear.

I have been pleased with this method also, but use a light spraying of clear along the edge. Remove the tape before the paint fully dries. As suggested remove the tape slowly and peal it back at an angle.

A lot depends on what you like and what style you like to build. From the picture it looks like you have two Ferrari's. Consider putting the Hemi from the Plymouth in one of the Ferraris. With a top mounted blower and the air intake sticking out over the roof. Too much ? Maybe keep it all under the stock body work with an exotic intake system. You could graft the body sides of the Ferrari with either the Mustang or the Camaro. You are only limited by your imagination.

As the picture of the 1:1 Ford shows the chrome on these cars was wider than you might think. In the past I have owned a '46 two door sedan and a '48 three window. I think that some may find the three windows rear side windows looks odd but remember that that window pivots out at the rear and does not roll down. The chrome moldings that mount the window can give it an odd look because of there not being any chrome on the front edge of the glass. I have already gotten my 40% of coupon for Hobby Lobby and I'm going to town in the morning.

Well built, the color combo looks great. The Rally wheels without the hub caps give it a very aggressive look.

For myself I really like the Maroon/Champagne two-tone. You are going to want a white back ground for your decals so the side window area would be best left white or even a clear window. I think it might be easier to make your two-tone if you leave the Bel Air side trim. You mentioned removing the tail gate trim. I did this last year on a custom Nomad build. You will want to get a cold beverage and several sanding sticks, it will take a while. That would make the Nomad a little more commercial looking with the trim gone. If you're going with a more custom look you might want to remove the V-8 emblems below the tail lights also.
