  1. Placed an order Friday afternoon . Received an email on Saturday that the order had shipped . Order was in my mailbox today (Monday) ! Great service !

    68 vette

Super sharp Vette ! Nice work on fine paint details .
  3. Thanks very much ! MEK is methyl ethyl ketone , same stuff as Tenax glue and some others . The big box stores sell it but look closely at the label , most of it says "substitute" in small print . I bought a quart at Ace Hardware for less than ten bucks .
  4. Thanks , box art builds are lots of fun too ! Thanks much Ron ! I'm hooked on this style and have several more lined up !
  5. Thanks guys !
  6. Love the colors and the Caddy was made for it !
  7. Cool idea and great execution ! It looks just right !
  8. To me Freshening or Refreshening a car means cleaning and detailing versus a Restoration which is much more involved , usually disassembling and rebuilding piece by piece . And what most of us are doing is no where near a RestoMod either . A while back somebody here (I thought it was Snake) suggested Restoration Plus or Restoration+
  9. Thanks ! I was going to start an unbuilt that I have when I found this one in need of help .
  10. Thanks much ! The box art is very cool . . . I bet it sold a lot of kits back then .
  11. Thanks Bob !
  12. For years I've always built models with super detailed engines and chassis , but lately I've been enjoying restoring old glue bombs back to original condition . I add a few things like poseable steering and a few decals , but they are basically "out of box" . This is Monogram's first rebox of the Blue Beetle . It received a new engine & exhaust , front bumper , and wheels & tires , and was molded in red & black . This is the glue bomb as I found it . The finished chassis and a link to the build photos . http://public.fotki.com/TooOld/models/show-rods-1/tom-daniel-boss-a-bone/ And the finished restoration . Thanks for looking !
  13. Beautiful work Ron ! I love seeing these old kits built the way they were meant to be .
  14. Beautiful job on the old Vette ! Bill's right , there's something about the MPC bodies that just makes them look better than the rest . Great color , and the wheels and tires are the perfect upgrade it ! Sure is nice to see restorations of these old builds , it ensures they'll be around for a while longer .
  15. Very fair price ! I used to charge $8 per kit but raised it to $9 last year . Being in Florida I can ship a kit to the SE for about $8 and to the NE for about $9 , but anything west of the Mississippi goes up to $10-11 . Except for California ,Oregon , and Washington which costs me around $12-14 . It's a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH shoot depending where the buyer lives and lately I've been losing money so from now on I'm charging $10 per kit , if they don't like it too bad . From what I can tell most sellers are charging at least $12 . I agree with Bill , you should charge enough to cover your expenses and not worry about the bozo who complains . And you owe no one an explanation why you charge a certain amount .

  17. Everybody is saying how great these are but . . . . . . is it worth $25.81 for a 30ml bottle plus shipping (if it's ever available) ? 30ml equals 1.014 oz . or 2 tablespoons .

    CRAZY COOOL !
  19. Nicely done ! And cool photos too .
  20. I just had to comment again on how much I like the colors you've used and it sounds like I'm not the only one that likes it ! Really nicely done Pat !
  21. Nice job Rick ! I've got a couple of those and plan on building a Crew cab like is sitting in my driveway . The only real draw back for me is the scale is a bit off , probably 1/22 or 1/23 instead of the advertised 1/24 scale .
  22. I saw his carbs on ebay last night and knew they looked like yours but upon a closer look weren't very good castings . Glad you saw them too as I was going to email you tonight about him . I doubt much can be done about guys like this except to spread the word on the modeling forums .
