  1. Great looking build ! I always thought t was cool that Brock kicked butt with that little car !
  2. Great link , thanks for sharing it ! And yes , I bought a set of Blackjack headers for my '60 that were similar to those , I copied them on my model .
  3. Beautiful !! I love the 512m , beautiful car . Congrats on a job well done !

Oh yeah . . . you've got the hang of it ! Lookin' really good ! One thing I would suggest is a little foil on the hood pins .
  5. I looked at the parts in one of my kits and the engine block and trans do look like a Chrysler . But the heads are similar to a Ford 427 and the valve covers are definitely small block Chevy ! The things on the headers are called " Header Plugs " on the instruction sheet , your guess is as good as mine . The tooling was probably copied from existing kits at the time . Since it was never a real car I'm sure it wasn't meant to be a copy of any particular engine
  6. That's really wild Dave ! I don't think it can beat a blown Corvair but I've got a little VW that's very loud !
  7. Beautiful work ! I love 60's !
  8. Very , very nice ! And it just happens to be my favorite year and color !
  9. Beautiful ! It looks great in white !
  10. That's a real beauty Jim ! Everything about it looks great ! I've always loved '67 Comets and Fairlanes . . . now I gotta build a couple .
  11. Sharp looking Riviera ! Your detailing is among the best I've seen , wish I knew how to do it . Especially the engine compartment details like your hose clamps . . . ? Also those resin tires look really nice too !
  12. That's almost too easy ! Thanks .
  13. Absolutely gorgeous ! I see way too many details to just pick one or two out . Very , very nicely done !
  14. Nice looking build Ray , I really like the silver and black colors ! I'm not too sure about using the display for taking photos though . . . I was thinking of doing the same thing but now that I see it I'm not too sure . Maybe without the chains , they are a bit distracting .
  15. Absolutely beautiful !!
  16. I received my junkyard today and here are photos of the Cheetah body . It's not a Cox body and it's not cut , it is a 2 - piece body and it is very thin . The 3 3/4 " wheelbase makes it 1/24th scale . Someone has filled the openings in the hood and lightly sanded the entire body but otherwise it's in very good shape ! In all of my searches I've never seen another like it and haven't a clue who made it .
  17. Yeah , I think we've all built at least one Manx recently . . . they're lots of fun ! I like what you did with this one , especially the painted windshield frame and the exhaust , looks really cool ! And DullCote works great on chrome , try it on an old part and see what you think .
  18. It looks great all the way around Ray ! I like the BMF on the side and the DullCote on the chrome parts really looks good . Very , very nice . I gotta get one of these !
  19. Now that is very impressive work ! If it wasn't on your cutting mat I'd never have guessed it was only 3" long ! Great job !
  20. In case you've never seen the Modelhaus kit , here's what it looks like . Very nice !
  21. It's nice but out of my price range . Modelhaus has a nice curbside for $60 which is what I'll probably end up buying . I just bought this junkyard on the bay because of what's in the upper right corner . I'm hoping it's a Cox body that's been cut and is still repairable !
  22. Wow that's very nice ! You obviously have some art background . And a big welcome back !
  23. Nice little cars and a great looking model ! Very nicely done .
  24. As a wagon guy my heart skipped when I saw your build ! Beautiful 2 door wagon and the camper is pretty awesome too ! You've outdone yourself this time , great job . . . . too bad GM stopped making the 2 - door Chevelle wagon in '65 . The '66 - '67 is a much prettier body style !
  25. An old CD works perfect . And you have to use acrylic paint ! Go to Michaels and by a small bottle of artist's acrylic paint for about $2 bucks and use very thin coats on the CD . If it doesn't look right on your tire just wipe it off with a wet cloth and try again . Sometimes I'll do a tire 5 or 6 times before I like it . Practice , practice , practice !!!
