Ray , you are right about the exhaust pipes , but like you said , it is a "simple fix" . I can do that myself , so why pay extra to have it done by the manufacturer when there are other things that really need to be done . On the other hand , it might only take one guy a few minutes to modify the mold and put a little dimple in the end . I don't really know . BOB .

Why Did I Buy This?

Do you want to part ways with the Weirdos ? PM me if you do . BOB . -
That is very sweet ! ! Your paint is flawless ! Congrats on a super clean build . How long does it take you to build a model like this ?

Slusher , That's a beauty ! ! What's your secret to " Shiney " ?

I agree . I like the color . Nice , clean build . Good work .

Nice job on this one too ! The black lower panels really set it apart .

Nice looking Charger ! I like the color , and the stock hubcaps !

Paint.net is definitely worth downloading if you don't have any editing program . It has a great selection of fonts and lots of special effects . I still use Windows Paint to make my decals the size I want , It just seems simpler to me . I also use the Testors paper , mainly because my LHS carries it . It seems okay to me . A couple light coats of sealer is all that is needed ( after the ink dries ) .

Thanks Steve , Ray , and Patrick . I appreciate your comments . When I did this build , I had never seen a Cobra in person and really was working from pictures in Magazines . Alot has changed in the last 30 years ! I boxed it back up the way I found it , and will save it for another time . I plan on building a new Cobra using the kit I have and everything I've learned since then . I hope there is no deadline for this CBP . I might be awhile . BOB .

Thanks Doc ! I didn't see the PE Grille in Greg's photos . That's a nice extra . I will definitely pick up a couple of these !

I've never seen this kit before . It looks really awesome ! You did an excellent job on this one . And I'm going to find one for myself .

I followed your build in the CBP . It turned out really nice ! Too bad about the windshield , Murphy's Law at work . BOB .

That's too bad . We got about 4 inches ! All that grass seed and topsoil I put down 6 weeks ago washed down the street ! It was growing too ! !

I'm still trying to decide what to build for a Tribute , so I dug out something I started a looong time ago ! Back in 1982 I started a 1/16 Cobra modeled after the Steve Arntz Replica that was on the cover of Hot Rod in 1979 . Using the MPC kit , I scratch built the frame and suspension using brass tubing . I just unboxed it for the first time this past weekend and took these photos . It's pretty banged up and the paint has yellowed . It was Bright Red with a Bright White stripe ! The interior panels are aluminum and have oxidized pretty badly . Overall , I think it looks pretty crude and may not be worth rebuilding . I have anither MPC kit that hasn't been touched yet . This shot shows the front frame extension is broken . Also the working suspension can be seen . Bottom views showing the frame and all the plumbing . One of the lower control arms is broken . I'm not sure why the rear links are rect. tubing , and there are no uppers ! The braided hoses are the shielding found in electronic wiring . It looks pretty bad compared with what we have available today . The fuel tank is an R/C item and the battery must be from the kit . That aluminum floor is probabably the worst part of this thing ! Okay , like I said it's probably not worth saving , but I'm looking for ideas . Save all or part ? Or set it aside and start over . I got carried away with the photos , didn't mean to take up so much space . I really need some input on this one ! BOB .

That's very nice ! Interesting display stand . Good Luck !

Looking real nice ! I love the 60 Fords . I have a question about your BMF . You say you are applying it before primer and paint . I've heard this before , but have never tried it . How exactly do you remove the paint and reveal the emblems ? And do you do it after every coat of paint ? Thanks. BOB .

I bought one about 6 months ago thinking it would get a lot of use . It hasn't . Whether I'm doing assembly work of small parts or painting some details , I need to rest my hands or arms on something solid , usually the table . I just need the support to keep steady . My " Extra Hands " are resting peacefully in the bottom of my tool box .

Looks okay to me . Even with the few issues you had it turned out great ! One of my favorite cars of all time ! BOB .
