  1. This is my idea of a Manx that is not built for off-road . It is for cruisin' the beach during the day and the drive-in at night . I lowered the ride height 1/8 inch and used the tires from the AMT '62 Vette . The paint is Krylon Orange Glitter Blast over Pumpkin Orange . I scratch built the soft top , seat cushions , and tail lights . To finish it off I printed my own license plate ! Your comments and suggestions are welcome . I have lots of pictures so enjoy and Thank You !
  2. Yep , those are pinheads for the snaps . Really too big , but I couldn't find anything smaller . Well . that's 1 vote FOR the whitewalls . I think most won't like them on a dune buggy .
  3. Hey There , I finished my little buggy last night . Here are a couple photos . I'll post more in On the Workbench . Thanks for looking .
  4. Really great looking engine ! I have 1 suggestion . Re-think the size of the fuel line . A 1 : 1 line is a minimum of 3/8 " ( 10 mm ) diameter . Some hi-po applications are 1/2 " diameter . The 1 : 1 plug wires are usually 7 or 8 mm diameter , some are 9 mm ( still smaller than 3/8 " ) . In your photos it appears the fuel line is much smaller than the plug wires ! The photo Casey posted is a good example of how they should look . Keep posting photos . It looks great .
  5. Okay , now I'm feeling stupid . Ding Ding Ding ! Had to change settings on my photo bucket account . Thanks guys !
  6. I'm having trouble posting photos from Photo Bucket . I followed the instructions on Greg's little video but Iget a red x , then when I post it has the URL but no picture . Now what ? I'll try it here so you can see what heppens .
  7. I'm just seeing if I can post a full size pic . Okay , what happenned ? I finally figured it out . The problem was with my Photo Bucket settings .
  8. Click on the pic to get Full Size ! NW Hillsborough County .
  9. I'm using parts from 4 kits for this build . The '57 Chrysler is supplying the bulk of the parts . The disassembled glue bomb supplys a 2nd body ( I'm building 2 at the same time ) and interior parts for the wagon . The '58 Plymouth donates its roof and becomes a convertible . The '71 Hemi Cuda is donating its engine / trans , hood and shaker scoop , wheels and tires , and probably the steering wheel . I stripped the black paint from the glue bomb and cut the roof off . Cut the roofs off of the other Chrysler and the Plymouth . All 3 form the new roof ( Plymouth is the center piece ) . Added some small spacers to adjust the height . Cut the body open to build the interior , and some filler on the roof . Next I fit the Hemi in the chassis and located the shaker and the hood opening . Finally , I test fit the new roof on the body and finished the body work on the hood . Does any one want a '71 'Cuda that's missing a few pieces ? I'll never use it . PM me . I will update in a few days . Thanks for looking .
  10. Those are Super Cool ! For some reason I want the airplane too !
  11. Try Drastic Plastics for instructions . http://thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html
  12. Been aware of Car Town for a couple of years . I will try it when I don't need a Facebook account !
  13. I have to ask . How do you drill all those holes ?
  14. Pretty Cool ! The bracing inside the body is a nice touch . Never seen that before . Lots of great ideas here .
  15. I agree ! Very nice engine , and overall looking great . Is this the Tamiya kit ? I've been wanting to build a bug for a while , but am undecided between Revell and Tamiya .
  16. I've never done a W.I.P. before . I do take lots of pictures when I'm building though . Sometimes I see things in a photo that I would have otherwise missed !
  17. Thanks guys . The tires are from the AMT '62 'Vette . They are a nice size for small cars . As far as painting white walls . . . this was my first attempt . I used Humbrol acrylic white paint , rigged a bolt and some washers to hold the tire . and clamped my elec. drill in a vise . On a slow speed , brace your hand to keep it steady and use a brush to paint the tire . If you screw up , wash the paint off with water and try again . I definitely need to practice ! Some guys say they use a circle template , which I have , but I couldn't figure that out . Oh yeah , after they dry spray them with some Dull Cote . . . looks great !
  18. Thanks Mike . Rechroming is not a problem !
  19. I'm currently working in 2 Chrysler 300's . The 1st is a wagon with a 'cuda Hemi in it . I had a jimmy Flintstone body , but it looked too street rodded so I built my own body . The 2nd is a shortened wheelbase using the chassis , engine , and interior from the Lindberg Charger . Lots of cutting to get it to fit under the Chrysler body . I need help tho' , with 2 300 kits I only have 1 front bumper . Does any body have a spare ?
  20. Hey Jerry . It was Christmas when you picked up the Cobra body . Here's a pic of the diecast . Pretty sharp looking !
  21. I love El Caminos , and I lov e your idea . Go for it !
  22. Bill , The largest belt I have is : .140" wide .050" thick .085" C. to C. on the teeth It is almost 30 " long so if it will help let me know !
  23. Here's my finished chassis . I know a lot of you won't like wide whites on a dune buggy , but I saw one with them back in '69 and liked it . Besides , I had never painted them before and wanted to give it a try . Please give me your opinion .
  24. Bill , I dismantled an old printer a while back and it had some small cog belts in it ! A couple different widths and pretty thin . What size do you need ? BOB.
