  1. I noticed that when I fit the engine into the chassis , looks like Salvino's may have missed this . I've looked at a couple of finished models on line and they both have the tube/caps modified to sit much lower . Haven't decided yet how to handle this .
  2. If you're using W10 or W11 you can convert them to PDF by choosing "Microsoft Print to PDF" instead of your printer . Yes it works , I've done it .
  3. Built one of the MPC kits back in the 80's and have another in my stash , guess they deserve all the bad press but I like them too ! Following along to maybe get me motivated to build it . Never seen that paint before , looks interesting !
  4. Thanks for the info DW ! After looking at some photos I suspected it was pretty close so I'm going to leave it as is .
  5. The engine is about finished for now . I modified the kit carburetor and added linkage/springs and a throttle cable , added an alternator from my parts box (replacing the blob of plastic that's in the kit) and made some brackets for it , and finally I made a fuel pump and added the fuel lines . Before continuing I need to check the ride height and make any necessary changes so I temporarily installed the front & rear suspension/wheels & tires . Salvinos includes a half dozen lowering blocks for the rear axle and the instructions say to add one block to each leaf spring so that's where I started . This photo shows the front assembled OOB and the rear with one lowering block . It looks pretty good but I may lower the rear a little bit more , what do you guys think ?
  6. Don't know about that , these guys know a lot more than I do about vintage race cars . Thanks James !

That's cool and very well executed , great that you were able to save it ! The cooloing holes in the rear glass are a nice touch .

  25. This is a Tweedy Pie with Boss Fink built by a friend of mine Mike Sharpless , original kits are very very expensive . Ed Roth fans have been wanting this for decades !
