  1. Beautiful build, gorgeous paint!
  2. Yep, diecast degeneration. Most common causes are humidity, and severe temp changes (causing humidity), oh yeah, and humidity. If you don't have central A/C, it works to run a de-humidifier. Some folks may dis-agree with me, but this is what I've found with my own experiences.
  3. I'm a wagon nut as well. This one looks fantastic! I love the color and the lowered look. Great build!
  4. Awesome! I love it!! When I was a kid, I had not only one, but two friends whose parents had one of these things. One was a '76 red metallic 2 door, and the other was a light green metallic '78 4 door. I'll never forget that I never wanted to go anywhere with them because I would be "squished" in the Chevette.
  5. Much better! I've been fixing some of my older builds lately too.
  6. I really like the added half round on the body, and the wheels look cool. Nice color too!
  7. Orange whip, Orange whip, Orange whip..............tree orange whips.
  8. Wow, white walls! Looks great Jim. The wood grain is awesome. I see you carried it to the interior as well. Very nice.
  9. Yes, the wood looks fantastic. Great interior details too!
  10. Looks great! Love the color.
  11. Colors look great on this one, and I love the washed brass and wood spokes. Very top notch build.
  12. Wicked cool build. Do the wide white slicks come with the kit?
  13. Yep. I put up a post in the wanted section looking for mirrors.
  14. Outstanding paint job and beautiful color!
  15. I'll agree on that. Both beautiful, but the blue is really sharp!
  16. Yes, with an old gent in a light green polyester suit standing near it! Thanks for the compliments guys. Yes, hood orn is available from MH.
  17. Wow, I've got a can of that color and hadn't used it yet. It looks great!
  18. That's why I usually take a couple of indoor shots to go along with my outside ones. Just to show how lighting affects the way a color looks.
  19. Looks fantastic! What color?
  20. We all started somewhere. Those look better than my first ones!
  21. Another JoHan promo that I've had since sometime in the '80s. I did the interior and landau top in a pale green, and the body is the facory JoHan finish of Edinburg Green metallic. I polished and foiled it. I also detailed the interior with the appropriate woodgrain. I am not a big fan of wire wheel covers, which this promo had, so I switched out to '72-3 ElDorado wheel covers, which resemble the '77 Cadillac full wheel cover. I also went with taller JoHan white walls to fill the wheel wells up better. It has some flaws, and still needs a hood ornament, but looks much better than it did.
  22. Jim, can you post the link to the woodgrain tutorial? I can't seem to find the one you read.
  23. This one too: oldcarmanualproject.com
  24. Carefully, with some 100% acetone on the end of a Q-tip. Then polished it out.
