  1. The 72 Vega showed up at 72 NHRA Winter Nationals with the fender well exit headers and they didn't pass tech, so a set of conventional under body headers were installed. In a couple of the engine shots you can see where the inner fenders were patched up to cover the area where the headers originally went through also the fender well headers exited through the front fenders behind the front wheels which was patched up and a second Hooker Headers decal was placed over the patch.
  2. Just remembered, as I didn't have tiny drill bits to make holes for sparkplug wires etc we would heat up a pin with a lighter and us it to poke holes in the plastic. Usally made a mess.
  3. I started building during the mid 60's. For tools mom's nail files and clippers also a Exacto soldering iron/hot knife, we only had Testor's paints and glues in my area. I still remember finding my first car model magazine on the magazine rack while looking for Hot Rod. Car Craft or Drag Racing USA which I still have today. Don Emmons and Hank Borger were my favorite writers in the mags. My friends and I used thread for plugs wires and toothpaste to polish the paint. I even remember bring the chassis of an MPC Duster to auto shop to drill holes in it to lower the front end.
  4. Amazing work on this build !!!
  5. You might consider looking at Technics build a little further down this for as his build has some good pictures.
  6. Our Ford of Canada Race Team at the NHRA Summernationals held at York PA.
  7. I used Bob Smith Industries Insta Cure and their epoxy to attach the photo etch to the white metal body. The bond was strong enough for handling and prepping the body etc. Hope that helps.
  8. Good luck. I'll be following as I'm about 3/4 finished on a Tameo Penske PC17 and a BBR Ferrari 333SP which have both stalled, so hopefully watching your journey will get me going again.

I'd pick a version of the car as it ran different hood scoops, wheels and front and rear combinations Good luck on your build Competition Resins has that scoop CRC 108
