  1. For British modellers. I have been looking at Rustins finishing products on line. They appear to have something similar in their range that might be worth checking out.
  2. I am about to try printing my own decals. Already have a few sheets of decal paper and will be using an ink jet printer. Apart from knowing that white cannot be reproduced, I would like to benefit from the experience of those who have already printed their own in the past. Things like it they need to be sealed, products used etc. Any info would be very helpful to avoid any pitfalls. Thanks.
  3. Another really lovely classic scale model car from Jurgen, having got over the 'Hellerisms'.
  4. Erik, those two 1/8th scale E type kits looked very different to me way back when they passed through my hands. So if what you are telling me is correct than I therefore stand corrected. It would be interesting to see photographs of each kits parts layout to see what is common between the two kits and what has been tooled differently.
  5. Nice period car build.
  6. Nice model taking shape here. Travelled in the back of one of those cabs many times !
  7. Nice models. All you need now is a model barn to 'find' them in.
  8. It was watching the Mustang video that prompted me to start this thread ! It's got to be the best detailed up Revell car kit I have seen so far ! I will have to take a look at Kenji's plastic models that Doyle suggested. I didn't know of that one !
  9. Came across a number of YouTube videos by A4 Garage. Fantastic builds being done on them with lots of upgrade and detail work techniques being shown. The small scratch built items are very interesting to see being made. Recommended viewing !
  10. Any idea who made the kit? There are shed loads of Harley D kits out there ! If you don't know what kit, put a picture up so that someone might identify it for you Jeffrey. Your post was so vague that no one can give you an answer without a bit more help on your part. HTH
  11. Incredibly detailed models Manfred. I have just started to attempt build No16 from the Artesania Latina kit as I like the colour scheme of mainly blue with yellow window frames etc. The kit is of No 29 in the plum red and sky blue livery, so I will have to get decals printed up for the version I will be making. I have been running and pausing YouTube videos with No 16 featured in it. It is amazing all those extra details that can be seen when doing this. My biggest challenge I think will be that No16 has a sliding door at each end of the enclosed section. Manfred's videos point the way forward about how I can overcome this particulzr problem. Lots to learn from them about other things on my build.
  12. Thanks for the heads up Trevor. I will have to look and see if the Zona one available from someone in the UK.
  13. You could be right about the P4 source Les.
  14. The quality of those 3D printed parts looks good Les. Far better than the Lotus Cortina Mk2 that I bought at Telford a couple of years back to make a model of a car I used to own.
  15. Matt's painting guide over on the Britmodeller forum is a very good one with plenty of good information within.I He has put the link up.
  16. Ditto all previous accolades ! I often wonder why Tamiya never did the E Type down the years.
  17. Thanks for that feed back Tim. I was rather hoping that the originator of the Bugatti wheels files might be a user of this forum to establish contact with. That EBay offering is a tad steep money wise, so will give it a miss !
  18. Bill's last post reminded me of that old expression 'Boys and their toys'. In most cases the toys get bigger as we get older, but as model makers we still enjoy our little ones too !
  19. America's vast industrial might contributed largely to the outcome of WW2. WW3 anyone?
  20. Erik, I can categorically say that the Imai/Bandai E type is a different kit altogether from the Monogram (now Revell) one as both kits have passed through my hands in the past. If I were looking for a 1/8th scale E type now, I would be looking at the Agora multi medium kit that is a roadster version
  21. Tupperware. Now that's a blast from the past when my wife used to run Tupperware parties (anyone remember them?) back in the 70's. Coincidentally when we flew over to Florida with our kids in the early 90's to do Disney, Cape Canaveral, Sea World and others we happened to drive by Tupperware's factory by chance. I think I heard somewhere recently that Tupperware had gone into administration. Such an iconic brand from down the years. It would be a pity it it has now gone. It also reminded me of a documentary about our late Queen Elizabeth at breakfast in the palace with assorted cereals in what looked like Tupperware containers on the table.
  22. And what Harry has just posted is the crux of the matter !
  23. One has to ask the question why it is that most manufacturers initially market their model kits at International Toy Fairs? It's a perception thing and always will be, so whether model kits are reckoned to be toys is not worth getting hung up about guys. Just get on and enjoy your builds ! Funny thing is that serious ship modelles who build models from 'kits' consisting of boxes of wooden strips are viewed differently.
  24. Rich Thanks for the feed back on the alternative E Type kit(s) to the Monogram (now Revell) one. Were the Imai and Bandai ones issues of the same kit? I actually had the kit many years ago and sold it on,but could not remember who made it except it not being the Monogram mouldings
  25. Good idea keeping a scraps bin. Not only for the parts carved off when converting but also the bits you cut off by mistake looking at the Aurora out of your windows Les. Lol.
