  1. Auction houses will generally do the inventory so you don't have to once they have the items an masse. They need to as they need to prepare it all into lots for their sales. Place no reserves on anything if you just want it cleared ! Let them do the hard work as they charge both sellers and buyers fees.
  2. Dan Some of those items you listed are quite collectable. The Matchbox Models of Yesteryear are sought after in mint condition and with their original boxes and possibly the Nascars. Try a specialist auction house for those and the G scale trains, The boat models.....Depends on whether built up or kits. The film camera items. depending on make, age etc. Might be worth contacting a camera dealer who specialises in collectable photographic gear to find out if valuable or not. HTH
  3. Nice build, but the Duesie as envisaged by Exner really looks odd compared to some of his other designs. A pity that the 'Speedboat' attitude of the front end proved to be a problem. I think that Paul has done well with this restoration build.
  4. Smart looking motor !
  5. Huge Stashes. What would you do with them ? Or rather what would who.might be left after you do with them ? Without wishing to sound morbid, It would seem that creating ever increasing stashes as we get older is defying the laws of nature as there seems to be an assumption of immortality if the intention is to build them. Lol. Would your loved one know how to dispose of a big stash easily, apart from landfill that is ? Worth thinking about leaving a list about disposal. Specialist auction houses would be by far the easiest way to dispose of a large stash. Alternatively specialist model traders why buy in collections to resell. For books look for second hand book sellers who specialise in transport to sell off a collection. Alternatively books could be bequeathed to a University of College for their library. None of us really want to think about the inevitable, but that's how it is. Built models. Not sure what to advise about them. Museums get stacks donated and do not always look after bequeathed models as one might like. What was your precious scale model is just another item to a museum unfortunately, and like it or not most have no interest in models made from plastic kits.
  6. Lovely finished build !
  7. Another series I remember watching was 'Route 66'. Cannot remember the characters but do remember the Corvette they drove. Clueless about the colour of the car as we watched black and white TV back in those dahs.I I think MFH does a nice 1/12th scale multi medium kit of a Corvette similar to the series car.
  8. Came upon this thread a bit late, but what a conversion ! Nice work Dan. Plenty of Evergreen and Plastruct sheet and sections come in to their own doing this sort of modification I would imagine.
  9. Lovely project taking shape here Ian. The devil is in the detail it is often said, so not surprising where the hours get eaten away on a project like this one !
  10. Amazing project to follow. What an enormous car ! What's next Francois? Will you be resurrecting that old Pocber Rolls you bought some time ago ?
  11. Nice to see this thread resurrected. John T never did get back to me about those tyres ! Lol.
  12. Nice model of a stylish looking historic rally car.
  13. Sad to hear of the loss of Jarius Watson. Never had any direct or indirect contact with him, but for years admired his prolific auto culture artwork. It would be absolutely brilliant if his combined works could be collated into a book for all to enjoy that would make a fitting memorial to his artistic talent.
  14. Looks like most of you guys think of temperature in Fahrenheit. 32 F being freezing. Always found it difficult to visualise unlike Celsius where Zero degrees is freezing and 100 is boiling temperature. A nice day to me would be about 18 to 22C.
  15. One of the singer song writer greats in pop music culture from the 60's. There was something about the Surfin Sound that resonated even right over here in the UK that gave us all a bit of a lift on many of our often grey British days and imagining that California sunshine. The Beach Boys sound was totally different to our Beatles compositions, both of which epitomized the youth culture of the Swinging Sixties as they were known on both sides of the Atlantic. Good Vibrations has to be their most innovative song from that era that blew me away when I first heard it when it was released, and still does even now. RIP Brian Wilson.
  16. I love watching politicians evading making direct yes/no answers whilst being questioned on TV. LOL
  17. Will definitely look up that FloPlast cement. A decent sized pot compared to the usual over priced model devoted products. Sounds like it will do pretty much all of what EMA's Plastic Weld will do. No mention was made about good old Balsa Cement in that general list the OP linked and much loved by flying model enthusiasts that was developed for that very open grained wood. The list linked to is a very good general guide it has to be said.
  18. Lovely model, and just goes to show how small the original Honda Civics were !
  19. Industrial shot blasting is done in a booth to save the granules for re use How these home use items work? They look similar to an air brush to use. Do you have to use them somewhere that the granules are able to disperse? As far as I can see they are a consumable, but unlike paint they are solids rather than vapour when used.
  20. Nice kit to build by the looks of it. Talking of Tamiya, they did a 1/12th scale Lola many years ago that was a very nice kit. A bit surprised that they never did the GT40 in 1/12th scale way back. As far as I know only Trumpeter and whoever used their moulds under licence have done a plastic 1/12th scale kit of this car that seem to have had their critics. CMA (Creative Model Associates) has been developing a highly accurate 1/12th scale multi medium kit of this car that seems to be taking forever to realise. Certainly a mega money kit when it finally does become available. Not sure if MFH might ever do one. We will have to see !
  21. The Harder as Steenbeck 2024 looks like a brilliant high quality airbrush and not overly expensive either. German engineering at its best. Paul Fitzmaurice's Little Tools who used to do the UK model show circuit normally had some H&S Airbrushes rigged up for demo on his stand and remember them being very good but also expensive. This new H&S 2024 Airbrush will be a good more affordable instrument now added to the range. I can see many buying this airbrush probably using it for life if it is a first time purchase.
  22. Thanks for the feedback Ace and Trevor .
  23. Ace. That flat Exacto Square of yours looks a useful bit of kit. I have some small normal engineers squares but not come across one of those before. Looked on the UK Exacto site and it's not marketed by them over here unfortunately.
