There was a nice set of replacement 3D printed wheels that was on Shapeways website for the Heller Bugatti T51 kit. If anyone knows knows of the original designer I would be interested to know.

Aston Martin DB5

A really lovely finished model. Those Ukranian wire wheels and tyres look really good to finish off the model. Pierre. Did you print the decals for the model yourself? If not I am looking for who makes decals that are in the same style of just the numerals that you used for the racing number for a different project of my own. -
A very nicely made model of how the car appears today. I have one in my stash to build and it looks to be a very nice kit considering it dates back to the 1960's. It was originally finished in black with yellow accents on the edges of the wings and the main body side trims were also yellow. The car was rescued from a New York breakers yard having a cracked engine block by Charles Chayne, a GM executive. He had the car restored and repainted plus adding some non original items and different wheel trims. He must have had his own ideas about how the car should look and be painted, as most restorers would have tried to make the car as original as possible. To build the Lindberg/Revell kit as the car looked originally one could purloin an Italeri Bugatti Royale and substitute the wheels and possibly the engine and some other bits from the Italeri version to do a mild kit bash.

Those early 60's Studebakers were really elegant looking cars back in the day. Quite European in styling when compared with the Fins'N' Chrome American cars of the time. Nice pair of models !

Model Car Display for Show NOT Diarama
Bugatti Fan replied to Ralphie's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I agree with Michael, having seen many models with indifferent to poorly painted figures on or with them at various shows that look just doll like are quite off putting. If you have a superb vehicle model and your figure painting leaves a lot to be desired the figure will.only degrade the effect you are looking for. Best left off altogether unless prepared to go that extra mile to learn figure painting techniques, some of which can be adapted and used to enhance the vehicle itself. More power to your elbow so to speak. -
Why ? Has Shapeways stopped trading ?

That's a neat model of a nice looking car ! -
From a modeller's point of view I guess that Kris will be best remembered as 'The Duck' in Convoy. But as other posters have pointed out he was also a respected singer songwriter as well as an actor, and will be sadly missed.

Does anyone make a comprehensive decal sheet that features virtually all the licence plates on one sheet for well known TV and movie vehicles? You know the sort of thing? The Duck's Mack from Convoy, the Peterbilt Tanker from Duel, Pruitt's Kenworth, the Bullitt movie's Mustang and Charger, Lotus 7 from the Prisoner, and Magnum's Ferrari, TransAm from Smokey and the Bandit, Land Rover from Tomb Raider, Christine, The Saint, Vanishing point etc. So many that could be done on one sheet. If not available already from someone, I am sure that a sheet like that would sell well.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Thought it sounded a bit odd. Particularly the bit about it accessing a low frequency signal. Guessed it might be a scam. That's why I put the question out there.

Monogram's 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept Car: WIP

Your perseverance will be well rewarded ! A really nice out of the ordinary model taking shape here. -
An incredible eye for detail making for a superb exercise in miniaturization very realistically executed.

Nice compact diorama. The rust looks very effective.

What options do I have here...?
Bugatti Fan replied to 花火's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The crack does not appear to go through the outer frame. Perhaps if you can manage to score the clear through very carefully just next to the inner edge of the frame, you may be able to use what you have removed as a template to cut a slightly oversized piece of clear acetate sheet to glue to the frame and replace the original. Once set the excess acetate around the outside edges can then be trimmed off. Alternatively you may be able to scratch build one. Simply push a piece of acetate into the original to cut the shape around the outside edge. Then use some thin vinyl tape on each side around the outer edge to make your own frame. -
I keep seeing an advert for a little gizmo that looks like it plugs into a USB port on a TV. It claims to be able to legally access all the pay channels for free as is is designed to pick up a very low frequency signal that all those pay per view channels have to broadcast on to allow the broadcasting authorities to monitor content. Big question. Any poster on here buy one ? And does it live up to all the claims on the advert ?

Looking through the wish lists on here has been interesting. Some of the wishes are already available in 1/24th scale but mostly not in regular plastic. Monogram did a Triumph TR7 hard top that could be converted to a rag top. The wedge shaped Lagonda I believe someone has 3D printed a kit as a project but not sure if they planned on selling them as kits. The Citroen SM is available in resin from a Ukranian company. C1 Models and Motobitz both in the UK makes trans kits to convert the Revell Land Rover. C1 makes a lovely resin trans kit to make one of the Bowler special Land Rovers from the Spectre Bond film. Jaguar XJ6 Saloon in white metal from UK company K&R Replicas. MGA (and other MGs) from either South Eastern (ex Wills) Finecast and Autokits white metal kit ranges now being sold by Squires of Bognor Regis, Sussex UK.

Thanks for the tip Bill ! I will keep that in mind. Thinking back, I think it must time out as my composition typing can be a bit slow. I think that I have a way of getting around it, by saving after the first few lines, and then going back and using the editing function to enable me to add more text to my post. Will have to try it and see if it will work.

Often when I make a longish post the site does not allow my submission. Sometimes I can go onto another thread and go back and retrieve my post composition and it will accept it. Last time I got really annoyed as it appeared to retrieve my post and I pressed for it to save. Then I had to say that I was not a robot ! On top of that I had to verify my email address, which I did. And do you know what ? It said my email address belonged to another member. By this time I was getting really irritated ! I was so jarred off after the time spent posting being a waste that I just gave up on it in the end ! Has anyone else been having this sort of problem ? This problem if regularly happening to other posters too really needs to be looked into .
