Neat ! Both the pics you and Alan placed are interesting.

Brilliant conversion/ kit bash Kit. You really do have a bit of a whacky sense of humour making a chauffeur driven town car from a FORD? Normally you associate those sorts of cars with the likes of Rolls Royce, Deusenberg, Hispano Suiza, Packard etc. I like to see 'off the wall' builds like this one. Neat!

Agreed Bill The internet and social media are brilliant places for people to demonstrate their illiteracy.

Recreation of 1964 Model Car Science ad for AMT Trophy series
Bugatti Fan replied to alan barton's topic in Model Cars
What a blast from the past. Model Car Science, a cool magazine from way back. The themed build based on an advert in the magazine was quite an inspired idea. Would make a nice display in the International Model Car Builders Museum ! -
That's a cool scale model ride you built there Ken, and looks good in bright yellow !

Belkits MG Metro 6r4
Bugatti Fan replied to dougwintz's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
A very nice model build. Belkits have made a good kit and Doug has made a really good job of it with his detailing. -

Nice to see a classic 1950's road cum racing machine modelled. Impressive detailing. -
Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?

At least the targeted ads in paper magazines don't keep popping up in front of what you are trying to read ! -
Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?

I think that I will get my Cyberdyne Systems 100 to dig out some of my old pre internet copies of Scale Modelling magazines to browse through along with a nice glass of Talisker Whisky ! -
Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?

You might be glad of your Encyclopaedia Britannica when targeted missile attacks or terrorists could take out those vast computer hubs serving all those electronic devices and set us all back to the 1800's ! Joking apart, that appears the way things are going as Mozzi says. -

I wonder if accountants ever had their own dedicated magazine named 'The Bean Counter' ? That's the problem when people with no passion for the content take over. -
What’s your favorite glue or adhesive?
Bugatti Fan replied to slusher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Never seen that black Model Master container liquid cement over here in the UK. I guess that Revell Contacta Cement being one of the many adhesives that I use must be very similar as the application of it is also through a small bore metal tube. Wonder if it is the same stuff but with different labels? -
Alclad Chrome - ARRRRGGHHH!!!!!
Bugatti Fan replied to newbie77's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Too many costs of Alclad and it goes dull. The Revell chrome spray is good by all accounts. Wonder if they will supply it in bottles to Airbrush? -
What’s your favorite glue or adhesive?

Don't dismiss tube cement as a childhood thing ! Although I use it both infrequently and sparingly, there is always the odd time when it can the best thing available to use, so I keep a tube handy along with the plethora of other various adhesives I use. -
Try rubbing the maroon body down a bit more and use some Halfords Filler Primer is the only thing I can suggest. The choice of maroon for your 105E reminded me of my late brother in law's very first car that was maroon. I am working on a 3D printed body of a Mk2 Lotus Cortina, making a model of a car I owned back in the 70's. Had a lot of rubbing down to do on it due to the 3D layering marks. Not primed it yet, so will be interested to see how it turns out. It's my first venture into using a 3D printed body. Bought it from Andy Swindlehurst at Telford two shows back, and a 'donor' Italeri Mk2 Escort. Had to extend the underbody chassis from the donor kit to lengthen the wheelbase. Happy days!

future/ pledge alternative?
Bugatti Fan replied to rattle can man's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you look for the Holloway House product, make sure it is in the green labelled containers as show in an earlier post. I have seen a YouTube video demonstrating it being used on a scale model vehicle and it looks like a good alternative to the old Kleer and its renamed derivatives. -
What’s your favorite glue or adhesive?
Bugatti Fan replied to slusher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use quite an assortment of adhesives due to the fact that I use a lot of different materials on my models and depending on what I am building at any given time. No particular favourite but I do find EMA Plastruct Plastic Weld good as it can be used on a variety of plastics. -
Well Francois, it has been quite a path to follow looking at the progress on this incredible model. Looking forward to following your next modelling adventure !

I see what you mean about the scales by comparison David. The Maroon one must be the 1/24th scale one. The Harry Potter one you show at the back of the trio looks quite a good model, so even if the scale is about 1/20th there will possibly by a lot of ex Anglia owners who could model their old cars from it. Who's resin or 3D printed body is the one at the front? That one looks quite large compared to the maroon one.

I'm coming back to this quite old thread after a few years after looking at Anglia 105E models. Dann Tier's post claiming that he is a Harry Potter fan reminded me of something. I believe that I have seen advertised, probably on a Harry Potter merchandising site, a 1/24th scale die cast model of the 105E from one of the films. So if anyone wants a 105E model to rework, the HP die cast might well be worth a look.

What non-auto model did you get today?
Bugatti Fan replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
American steam locos have quite some character, especially being so large to haul really long heavy freight trains. I have a book about the development of the American steam locomotive. Fascinating reading for a Brit over the pond. -
Le Mans Miniatures makes a Bugatti Type 59 slot racing car in 1/32nd scale. I They used to make a set of wheels for this model that could be bought separately. Does any one of you slot car guys know of any slot car seller/retailer that may still have a set for sale?

We have a UK programme on TV where teams of two pursued are by hunters who stay in contact with a control centre with high tech tracking means. They have to reach a certain destination by staying underneath the radar within a certain time to claim a very large cash prize. All to often they get caught out by slipping up using what appears to be the obvious. Mobile (cell) phones, Pay phones (if there are any left these days), Getting lifts in modern cars that now have built in trackers, using bank debit or credit cards, stopping at a known relative or friend's place and of course CCTV cameras. with face recognition tech. It really shows up how tech can trace your whereabouts and what surprises me is the sheer volume of it tracking our every move. So quite a challenge to those taking part. Those 'helpful' domestic voice recognition devices to control home items are also listening and recording remotely what you are saying. Ever wonder why one gets bombarded with targeted ads? It is not coincidence. Cyberdyne Systems T1000 anyone?

Humbrol Acrylic Spray Paint
Bugatti Fan replied to curt raitz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Humbrol seem to be going through a state of flux at the moment. I believe that due to newer regulations they are having to reformulate some of their product lines. They have been around a long time and generally make consistently good paints. Today thougb, there are so many competitive specialist finishing products out there that simply were not around in the halcyon days of Humbrol, Airfix, Testors, Floquil and Pactra enamels It might be worth contacting them directly to find out the current state of play, or they might have some information posted on their website. -
This Meta A1 all sounds a bit sinister to me, particularly as FB insists on having your phone number in order to register.
