  1. I just ordered some Tamiya LP range of paint, LP-30 light sand. I thought I’d give that a whirl while at at trying a new style of kit. Ben
  2. I’m predicting the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. Tamiya did the convertible F50. Another new car may be the Aston Martin DB11. Old or new, I’m sure it’ll be great. Ben
  3. Hopefully we will be able to paint the details instead of using the stickers. Ben
  4. Looking forward to this. Ben
  5. I just paid $100 Australian the other day for one from China. Hopefully mine arrives better than yours did. Ben
  6. Looks good. The kit seems to fit together nicely. I’ve ordered the HobbyBoss version. Only cost me $100 Australian including postage. Will most likely get an engine next pay. I’ve started gathering info and pics from the net. I’m not sure if I’m going to build mine in desert sand or post military life bright civilian colours. Ben.
  7. Very nice! I’m glad the DM800 is getting rereleased. I believe Mack and Scania shared the same engine block for the 673, 711, the E9 also. The V8 Scania sounds similar to an E9 Mack V8, just not as throaty. Ben
  8. The western r series of Mack had straight rails. I modified my 1/32 Rubber Duck. I haven’t finished her yet, still working on the 2 hole bud wheels. Here’s a pic of the frames I fabricated from a combination of looking at pictures and spec sheets.
  9. An example of an Australian truck with super singles on the front axle
  10. We use super singles on the steer axles in Australia. Ben
  11. I’m definitely getting the hobbyboss version next pay. Ben
  12. I knew about the super singles and trailers. They’re certainly holding their cards close to their chest with an actual big rig subject. I remember when the lonestar was being developed, the pictures were on the net. It was great to see the tooling being developed. We can only hope. Ben
  13. Cheers Art. That’s awesome you guys are willing to share information with consumers. I’m looking forward to more projects. I’m truly hoping for another big rig. A Mack Anthem and or Granite would be a treat. Regards Ben
  14. Thanks everyone! Ben
  15. You won’t regret it. I stuffed up the decals. I want to do another one to learn about decals. Ben
  16. I’m calling this done. The decals were awful. I gave up using them all. I would love to do another one with the after market photo etch. Positive factors include working out my airbrush, and getting the body work right pleased me. Cheers Ben
  17. Good. Hopefully they get to the 1/32 big rig range Ben
  18. Awesome result for a first build! Ben
  19. The only thing that I’m struggling with on this kit is the decals. I’ve had a few go wrong, might be operator error not the decals. Ben
  20. Very nice, as usual. Ben
  21. That bottle is Tamiya gunmetal, straps done with a fine chrome paint pen. Ben
  22. I painted the whole brake assembly Tamiya gloss black from the can. Then I use Tamiya metallic silver from the can which is almost chrome. Once that’s cured I use a hole punch to put holes through masking tape. That’s how I get perfect circles for masking the chrome silver rotors off to allow me to paint the rotor centre? and calibers titanium gold. I then carefully put the tape with the hole in it over the rotors. I then use a sharp scapal to enable the caliber to be exposed.then the titanium gold is sprayed on, ensuring that the tape has been burnished down first. Hopefully this helps. It’s fidly but worth it. I should do a video or photograph it next time. Cheers Ben
  23. Shadows. I used panel line paint on the rotors too. They look less toy like with that done. Ben
  24. Hi fellas. My current car project.
